I picked up an old Roland TR-505 drum machine a few days ago for not much money and was eager to see what it could do.
In short, it's no Tr-808 or even a TR-626 for that matter but it does do one thing particularly well, and that is to sound like the mid 80's.... a lot! With a bit of reverb it does capture a particular time in music very well.
With this in mind I made a short track to demonstrate its sound. A chilled 80's vibe guaranteed!
