In this episode, you will learn about Bitcore cryptocurrency. With me today I am speaking with Ivo, bitcore team member, who is going to explain everything related to Bitcore and find out what is being done in terms of development and other related information.

Bitcore is a cryptocurrency that was created in April 2017. They had a hybrid fork and because of this it was made possible for everyone who had bitcoin to claim Bitcore with 2 snapshots that they’ve done, after those snapshots there was an airdrop phase and this was all done to distribute the free coins and to build community and see how people will react to this project. So far the feedback from the community was positive and this keeps the Bitcore team excited to continue with this project. What does Bitcore offer? Main specifications include SEGWIT ( that enables Lightning Network, Tumblebit, Schnorr Signatures, Confidential Transactions, Cross-chain atomic swaps) as well as 10MB blocks with block time of 2.5 minutes.

If you had some Bitcoin before 2nd of November 2017, then you probably have Bitcore as well. Because on this day the second snapshot happened which enabled everyone who had above 0.01BTC to get 50% of their Bitcoin holdings in Bitcore.

For those of you who might be interested in mining this coin, you can do this as well. Bitcore has “TimeTravel10” algorithm and coins can be mined with any AMD/NVIDIA graphic cards which makes it good choice if you have some to spare.

Main parts of this interview consist of:

  • General information regarding Bitcore and what is the ultimate goal that Bitcore is striving for in the future.
  • Understanding the security of the Bitcore network.
  • Understanding the fiat gateway that will enable store owners to accept Bitcore and receive fiat directly or if they like fiat instead.
  • BTXM – BTX machines, what are they and how they are different from ordinary ATMs that we all know about. Find out what are some use cases for BTXM machines and where they will be lunched at first.
  • Find information regarding whitepaper creation as well as the process behind legally registering the Bitcore Fundation.
  • How positive the community of Bitcore is and how the community members are helping the Bitcore team to spread the word about the coin and projects behind it.

I haven’t had time to explore and share with you every part of Bitcore, but if you are interested and are eager to learn more about it you can find some resources below:
