I seek to bring more life to my writing, and while photographs help with imagery, giving voice to my words feels much more powerful than letter symbols and images alone.
This is the first time I will be including this audio recording with my writing, and I am curious for feedback on if this representation of sound helps or hinders the message of my words.
My name is Coyote Om. Welcome to my first voice installment on the blockchain.

Intentional Tools for Self-Engaging + Self-Embracing
Yesterday while chipping away at a spoon, Austin told me that he believes carving has connected him more with the tools he uses than the wooden creations he forms. Getting to know how to work with his tools, he learned how to make the work flow naturally with the grain, lifting the spoon from the wood.
It had been a few days since I dedicated time to body movement--apart from dancing, a personal favorite form of holistic sensation in body experience. I rolled out my yoga mat and spent time sinking back into myself. I could feel the energy in my vessel warming up. Muscles flowing more fluidly as I moved slowly, breathing into place. This simple click back into muscle movement is so sweet, and I am deeply grateful to have access to this in this life.
I thought about what Austin had said as I settled into breath. I imagined my innermost being as the spoon, this body connection lifting myself through the physical grains holding me in. The creation, or perhaps, the becoming of who or what we are is a direct result of the tools we use to become.
What tools am I using to shape my future, and what is it that I am to become?
On the mat, it’s simple. The present moment of body-mind focus is shaping my becoming. But what about when I step away from this space? Maybe in the golden age, we felt peace fill our body + mind each moment, perfectly in harmony with the universe. Now, we aren’t so lucky.
Born into a society that has grown from deep roots in negative or questionable history, we deal with non-ideal interactions many days of the week—sometimes even many times in a day. While many of these interactions deal with external factors and situations, I believe that much of our mental mayhem is self-enforced.
We can’t always control the outside forces acting upon us, but we can choose how to interact with these external energies on a deeper level through personal acquaintance and discipline. The people we surround ourselves with, the food we eat, and the things we spend time doing have deep effects on our bodies and our minds.
If we use external experiences + material additions as the tools which shape us, does it remain reflective of the pure essence of our inner self?
By becoming true to self through honest personal presentation and mutual trust + support, we can begin to understand the power and energy we have innately within ourselves.
A simple personal example: Many people view adornment as materialistic. I commonly adorn myself with necklaces, rings and earrings. I feel comfortable wearing heavy sets of stone or metal because it feels grounding + energetically quite luxurious. This is very similar to how I view this rich earth which we are so blessed to live upon.
When I honor the beauty and true energetic value of the jewelry I wear, allowing it to enhance and mingle with my own aura rather than distract, I am unashamed of the vibrancy it creates. I feel blessed in its splendor. I feel welcome to express myself externally through these materials, knowing that my intentions are based in honor of earth’s endless forms of beauty.
It seems like so many people I encounter are just itching to express different facets of themselves. Wishing under their breath for some chance to break through, unbeholden to others’ expectations. Presently I believe that acceptance of others is easier done when we first wholly accept ourselves.
The thin line of balance between accepting vs embracing who we are seems to demand some light shed upon all edges of our life experiences. Bringing awareness to the pure childlike sweetness + wonder within ourselves is something I find quite essential to attaining unshakeable contentment. Bringing awareness to the darkness within ourselves is just as essential for growth and fulfillment.
With this, how can we flourish to our fullest extent without ever letting ourselves unravel to the core?
Perhaps we can flourish through respecting our integral individualities and honoring these bodily experiences, in whatever way feels most natural to our intuitive self. This in turn requires an energetic scope outwards, respecting others’ rights to explore their fluidity of expression at their own pace.
In order to thrive as individuals, we need to be able to thrive as a whole.
We do not need to transcend our humanity. Often transcendence is seen as this ultimate pedestal ideal. I feel deep in my bones that we should dive into and contemplate this animal experience of human. We should be at home in our bodies and our minds, safe and trusting that the people around us are similarly supportive of our highest good.
As emotionally capable humans we should be able to accept the frailties of others and welcome space for honest empathetic conversation. Presently, the need for a warm sensitive re-union with our humanity is dire. As energy is constant and always changing, so can our human focus change fueled by intent and desire.
As creatures in a cyclic system, we have to learn balance, discipline, and responsibility to ensure the prosperity of our future generations. I believe our personal choices to be responsive to ourselves and our biosphere is one of the most honorable things to do. We are in a closed system, and even our smallest actions affect the world around us. Be considerate of the tools which you use in order to uncover your path, considering the many rippling effects that they emit in their creation and their subsistence in this shared biome.
I recognize that we can only commit ourselves to so much in one lifetime. In this life I am trying to focus on using my honest passions and personal strengths as my tools of self-carving. Seeking to always act intentionally with trust, honesty and loving support. By pouring out the rawest, brightest version of ourselves we can ripple this pure internal spark out to those around us who are looking for their sign to become.
Are you seeking to feel more self-acceptance and power in your life?
Envision transforming rather than transcending into your highest-self. Become that which you already are.
till next time,
stay wild, be sweet

Welcome to the world of dsound. Good to hear the voice behind the words.
It seems that way to me also. Or in reverse, perhaps, we reject the outer/other, because we reject the inner/self. One way or another , it starts with self. And expression and voice is a such a part of that.

Thanks for the dsound welcome! I was very hesitant because the platform seemed to be made for musicians by musicians, but I noted that podcasts are very welcome as well, and felt that this letter to voice recording would fit in alright!
Interesting note on the reversal, rejecting the other due to our rejection of inner. Perhaps it is one and the same after all? :)
