Zipaddee Doo Da Medley [Song]

Hello Music Fans. Here is a very fun medley of some of the happiest Disney songs ever written. They fit so well together, that I thought it would be good practice for me to swirl them together into one single track.

Title: Zipadee Doo Da Medley

Hopefully this song makes my listeners feel bright and exuberant. The last song I uploaded was so sad, that I thought my listeners might need something new to help chase away any tough emotions it might have unearthed. I like these songs because they make me feel like I am living the best parts of being a kid again: jolly, joking, playful, and without any troubles to worry about.

Song 1: Zipadee Doo Da

Four Tracks: E. Bass (Melody), E. Bass (Bass), Strings Pizz. (Plucks), Cymbal, Rim, Hi-hat, Gentle Hat, Snap, (Percussion).

Song 2: Just A Spoonful of Sugar

Five Tracks: M1 Organ (Melody), Trumpet (Alt. Melody), E. Bass (Bass), Strings Pizz. (Plucks), Cymbal, Rim, Hi-hat, Gentle Hat, Snap, (Percussion).

Song 3: ?

Can you guess the name of song number three? I'll give you a tiny clue with the names of the sounds included in the various tracks.

Five Tracks: E. Bass (Melody), E. Bass (Bass), Strings Vibrato (Fiddle), Strings Pizz. (Plucks), Cymbal, Rim, Hi-hat, Gentle Hat, Snap, (Percussion). Banjo (Not included: still looking for a good sound style).

It would impress me very much if someone is able to guess the name of this third song in the comments below.

The real purpose of this medley was for my own practice in songwriting using Korg Gadget. I am experimenting a whole lot with changing the rhythm feel of catchy songs so they have a different swing. All of these songs are normally very fast and upbeat, and tend to have an even marching type of beat.

As you listen to this song, notice that I slowed them way down, and added some swing. I did this by changing the 2/2 or 4/4 traditional time signature of these songs into a 3/4 time signature. This allows me to assign a triplet to every beat of music, instead of even half divisions. See if you can identify certain parts of the traditional melody that I jazzed up slightly using the nuances available within the 3/4 time signature triplet beats. Maybe you'll like this rhythm better than the original. My goal was to make these fast songs feel slow and interesting enough to make dancers enjoy it as a Foxtrot dance style.

The bass lines and chords I really had to improvise on. Everything in the melody line was designed by ear (not even that, by memory mostly). I designed my own counter rhythms and new musical melodies and rhythm lines to best showcase the song to the new rhythm style. Writing chords, bass lines, and percussion in an improvisational way to fit a known song is getting a lot easier for me now that I know some of the basic rules about how melodies and chords fit together. It can be a lot of fun to jam to an easy song, and make it better with your own personality!

Here's a Scrub Jay picture for you but still working on that third song....

Brilliant photo. I see these birds every year in our yard. The younger birds, I believe have the larger grey patch on their shoulders. It's the truth. It's factual.

@steven-patrick. Did you ever figure out the jingle for song #3? I was wondering if I can reveal the answer yet, or maybe tell which movie the song is from as a hint. Definitely not a song most people recognize.

I give @creativetruth. Which film? btw I don't think Song of the South is PC anymore lol

No it isn't. That is part of its charm. Still a great song, right?

Pete's Dragon.

OK, I've got it. But I won't spoil it for anyone else.
