What if

This song was one of many written around 2000, before marriage and children and before learning who I really was. While most of my originals were dark and soulfully tragic, there were a few moments of more positive inspiration! This particular song, though written years before we started dating, was very much written for @guntotnhippie, even if I didn't know it at the time. It's a rare moment of light during some very tumultuous years.

I was singing with some great musicians and had access to some recording time. While none of my songs were ready to be recorded for producing, I wanted to get what I did have recorded so that I could listen to it and get a different perspective. I literally recorded 18 pieces, back-to-back with only one re-do in about 90 minutes, so it really was intended for my ears only. Now, after listening to some great musicians through Steemit and Dsound (@nathankaye, @dantanner, @melissakellie, @coruscate) I've been inspired to share my unfinished pieces. Although they're not polished, they do tell a story of where I once was and the passion for music that is still flickering within.

What if

What if I told you I’d wait several lifetimes for you?
What if I told you I think that I already have?
Would you blow me off or laugh at me,
Shake your head and belittle me,
Or look in my eyes and tell me you’re my man?

What if I told you that I’d never been so enchanted?
That the stars outside never shined with such vigor or light?
Would you tell me it’s the season,
Or give scientific reason,
Or smile and hold me oh so tight?

If I’d lost my faith in romance
Through you it’s been restored
And I won’t be scared to answer
When love knocks at my door.

What if I told you your eyes they see right through me?
That the sound of your voice makes me feel so giddy within.
Would you smile, take my hand, tell me how you understand
Then carry me off with a love that will never end.

I chose @Crowbarmama as a handle because I believe in doing the best you can with what you have on hand. The crowbar is a multi-purpose tool. You’ll notice my photography is a bit rough, my grammar is not the most polished, but as a homeschooling, homesteading mama of 4, if I waited to take my photos until the light was perfect or re-edited my posts a 5th time ( I shoot for 3 drafts), I would never get a post out!

Don’t sweat the small stuff, just Crowbar it!

First time I heard you sing mama. It's sweet and to read the history about it... Maybe one of these days you can jam with crowbarkids. I woke up early and finally got to read and curate this morning...

Thanks! I have done a couple little tunes with the @crowbarkids! You can check them out here if you're interested. Might give your kids a laugh!

hahaha that was great! I miss a lot of things in Steemit it is tough to keep up. I have lots of people I want to follow but my feed will suffer so I just bookmark them.

You have a wonderful voice and mama's babies are too sweet. "Book!"

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I understand about trying to keep up. I have followed folks so that I can hopefully see their posts in my feed, but I still try at least once a week to go through my followers and check out their recent posts. It's getting harder to keep up, especially since I don't have as much uninterrupted time as I'd like, but we just do our best, right?

Glad the "Book!" made you chuckle. He is crazy-obsessed with them! Have a great day!

Wow you have a lovely voice! It's a great song and I love the part at the end when you put some real grit into your voice. So lucky that you recorded these songs at the time when you had the chance!

Thank you! Yes now that I'm working on an entry for Openmic, wishing I had a proper microphone to help with the sound, I'm especially grateful that I recorded these tunes!

You know something amazing? I only listened to this song once, but it somehow stuck in my head so much that I've found myself humming it since then. Sure sign of a great tune!

Wow! That is amazing! And the ultimate compliment! Thank you! I may need to work on that one for an Openmic post?

Loved hearing one of your songs. You have quite the range in vocals. Enjoyed very much with my first cup of coffee this morning.

Thanks @warpedweaver. Your comment reminded me that I want to learn Clouds in my Coffee!

@crowbarmama, Cool, I will be looking forward to hearing it! I do love your logo! I've lived most all my life with a crow bar in my hands, or a ball peine hammer. LOL Sometimes in life, things need just a little "fine Tuning"

Nice Sound...
Enjoy to listen it... 😊
