The World, a Debate Table

Mad hatters of debate
Took hands off the table.
Unable to make eye contact,
Wrecked by ideology toxic
We smooth frolick.

Flock to the cinemas
To make celebrities more idolatrous.
Screenlaid dialouge unrealistic
Horrific cost of living.

Buy more junk terrific
For collections to collect dust.

Must layers on rust prayers recyled.
Gaffle steady, musket ready to blare.
Have you tried our lush lunch menu?
Got the best gunpowder there.

Exploding youth rollicking on tubes
Float down the river drunk, get sliver sunk.
Splinters in the finger—deep glass shards,
Cathartic chieftan be sequined
Diabolical rulers don't fool me.

With fancy robes ravenous for winter cataclysm,
They keep the population uneducated/entertained.
Everything is physical!
Admit it or be proclaimed deranged.

Worship the empirical,
Let it seep into your brain.
Check the list of thought crimes;
take care you're never sane.

If you are, unwind.
Re-spool me, my threads got a bit frayed.
Respun by the movies engrained archetypes;
When life ain't goin' Disney I'm dismayed.

But I'm fine, I'm fine mama.
Don't worry, I scurry quick.
A plucky one, scrappy in conflicts:
Routed automation elation throne bone to pick.

Sick tunes bruh! Forreal G.
Sic' me with the mob,
Guard dog god draughts on tap, bip boop bap.
Elaborate snap the shaped gap recedes.
They plead and plead,
Monks medieval smiling sip—
Stay lit on honeyed mead.

With water polluted only spirits are safe, germless.
Burn this manuscript to skew the truth
Ignorant bliss under the eaves straight searchlit
By a curt order court-given.

Limbs for fuel cut into the furnace rough-riven,
Beautiful braids sewn up with the right ribbons.
Look good on the surface
And forget what you're given.

People can't handle, got on Jain sandals
Sweepin' the ground. Crush no bugs no pain no death,
Insect-plant-animals, even vitamins are massacred.
Laquered magazines preach acceptable viewpointers;
I'm too jointed, folded origami-up.
They mobilize militias
To scream and social-bomb our sup.

Eat nothing, don't murder poor vegetables!
Bacteria kept in concentration skin-camps
To ferment the inevitable into vitriol.
Starve yourself love; martyrdom is sexy.

Schismatric congregations,
Elected officials smile through lies.
You wanna die? Cessation the myth,
Only continuity exists.
Persist in ignorance, get blasted by the master.
Gone within without rambling on,
Word-boundaries shattered at dawn's break.
I may be mad, but a hatter
Sure tabled the debate.

Notes

Here's just a few words on the origins of this spoken-word piece. I was in a somewhat angsty mood the other day and I decided to savor it through the creation of some cathartic rhymes. It was also some good practice for getting back into rap, since I've not written any in a while. It's quite different from poetry, though there is a great deal of overlap. The attitude of this piece could be described as cynical/sarcastic, which functions defensively for those with empathic proclivities.

The rebellious mindset is one that's nostalgic for me, and one that plagued me throughout adolescence and early adulthood. It's not that there aren't benefits to this attitude, but its inherent toxicity does catch up with one eventually. It is not unusual to be dissatisfied with the status quo, given the seeming monstrosity of our modern society.

It is much more difficult and rather disturbing (not to mention an exceedingly rare achievement) for a human to attain the realization that reality is perfect as it is, when seen from the context of the entire universe. Though simple, it is hard to accept. Fully absorbed in this comprehension, it can be challenging to create anything.

Yet in the state where all knowledge is held in abeyance—in the visceral balance of receiving-and-giving the universe provides: using forms and symbols as tools to vanish asymptotically into That Which Is—free of attachment and fettering thought, where life becomes so poignantly real and exquisite, even in its savagery: there is a voice which says, "Create."

This poem brings the calm of who knows the materials with which the fabric of the world is woven and does not get entangled in ovillejos. He emanates wisdom in his words and a lot of rhythm, augmented by the use of funny words in jargon or speech with technicalities. Presents the idea that not everything is what it seems and now the wave is dispersed in flowing with the universe, just walk without much complication, with the knowledge that provides maturity and experiences. The notes represent an excellent tool for the understanding of the "status quo". And, together, the wonder is creating a spiral that collects and channels: life, thoughts, wisdom, emotional and mental state, music, art, concentration and a type of peace linked with the awareness of vibrating in tones that emit confusing signals. even for himself, sometimes. Excellent poetry, as always, dear @ d-pend. Success in what you undertake! Blessings!

  • @d_pend Thank you for sharing an excellent and comprehensive article. I loved your opinion of giving and receiving. You have to help other people with a lot of love and sincerity. To receive gratitude and good deeds from tidos as well. Life always rewards us. I loved the voice of creation. We must be very creative to achieve our goals. Rethinking new and fresh ideas will lead to success in this wonderful world. Everything you write is great. I love to enjoy every line you write dear friend @d-pend.

Hi @yenisfer, thanks for checking out my post and leaving a comment. Your words of encouragement are appreciated. Like you, I am an optimist.

In fact, reality is stunningly beautiful. It is mental paradigms we adopt after birth that attempt (typically with great success) to convince us otherwise. When something is out of awareness, people will say it doesn't exist.

Actually, the Universe doesn't care what our opinions or beliefs are. They are utterly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Paradoxically, everything matters so much that "every hair on one's head is counted."

Exploring Truth is not for the faint of heart. Wholeness.

@d-pend thanks it is a pleasure for me to always read what you write. Your particular way of writing is great. I hope you enjoy a beautiful day. A big hug, friend and lover of beautiful writing and poetry.

I haven't seen you in a minute @d-pend Been trying to survive in these slow times. The last paragraph of the "notes" was a work unto itself.

Hey @evernoticethat it's great to see you! I've definitely been around less frequently recently. Props to you for sticking around in the bear market; it may not be glamorous but it's even more important than activity during the bullish phases. I'm really happy you felt the ending notes were substantial.

Much Love, Dan

Glad to hear you're good. I was a little worried when I didn't hear from you after I featured you in my series The Best of Steemit I thought: "maybe I should have asked him first!) :)

It was interesting to have a pick behind your creation, it is always a wonder when you think what made a person to create this or that thing no matter if it is a poem, book or painting. There is a muse or event or emotion that drives creativity. Thank you for sharing it @d-pend :)

Hi @d-pend you done excellent writing I read your full post. Third paragraph of note was very nice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Hey @goodtotrade that's awesome! I appreciate you taking the time. Did you also listen to the spoken audio? This is first and foremost an "aural" creation. If you did, what did you think of it? Thanks again, have a great day~~~

Honey mead is not vegan :P

That’s a great poem with such truth. I felt the rap in it. 😊

I can dig it.

Hi D
@rensoul17's curation steered me back in your direction. I'm so glad she did. I don't scroll around or see my feed as much as I'd like.
Listening to you speak your words is such a treasure, I miss sitting at the back of your class and listening in.
Returning to steemit poetry, listening to this piece did not disappoint. You are a unique artist and your own voice adds great power to your words.
Inspiration is so over used, which is a shame because you do inspire.
Social commentary is not such a unique occurrence, to deliver it dripping with such colour and rhythmic brilliant descriptive delicious impact, there is the rarity.
Thank you.

I am glad you think so! Creating is the main thing, great wording or not @coolguy222 <|^..^|>

Excellent poem. I loved to hear second time on dsound.

Speechless, that seems to be a good way to describe my state right now
