Le Théatre des squelettes

Inspired by Tim Burton's world this composition illustrate Paul Delvaux's painting. The scene takes place in a city where the deads go out from their graves at the nightfall and make fun of human beings by reproducing historical facts like The Descent from the Cross.

As the sun sets, mankind falls into the arm of Morpheus. Not so far in the heart of the city, awaken the skeletons of the ancestors driven by an ominous rhythm piercing the silence of the night.
The fleshless bodies gather at night ready to moque humans by performing plays. As they enjoy the festivities, the sound of their bones creates an occult melody which was heard by no beings.
The play coming to an end, the comedians get back to their graves, the sun rises again and without knowing it the fools were the men.
