Dis Tor Tion 1

So, let's jump into a time machine and go back 20 years.

This track was made on the original playstation - the software was Music 2000 and I have it on my PSP now but haven't even touched it since the old days.
It was recorded from PS to a Yamaha MD4S multitrack minidisc recorder and I then added a few overdubs, bounces and stuff - the end result is pretty damn good for what I was using.

Guitar sound is cheap Jackson into DS1 into 80s Roland Cube, I used a DIgitech RP7 for the "pedal steel" parts and other clean guitars.

The only thing I don't like about this is the yucky acoustic guitar at the start, I only had a horrible cheap mic and .. shouldn't have even tried.

Now jump forward to last year and you can go listen to my other track to hear what I eventually did with the idea: dsound.audio/#/@outoftune/the-ballad-of-wulf

Cheers people

You just made my day. I had the original PlayStation but did not know about this game. This is awesome. And it's made even more awesome by the track. It is my guess that very few tracks of this quality came out of music 2000.

Mostly dance music man - it was called MTV Music Generator in different territories.

First "game" I paid $110 NZD for in my life... was well worth it, hours of fun. I'm going to load it up on PSP on the weekend for some nostalgia :D

I'm going to check if there is an emulated version. I really want to see this.

Nice Music, incredible.

That’s nostalgic and simply magical. I love it! Can’t wait to hear more from you.

nice

Amazing man I didnt know you could record with playstation. :)

Track made with a "game" music 2000 - it was a sequencer with samples that you could step edit. Excellent product for it's time. It was then recorded onto multitrack Minidisc to add other things to it.

Great article! Check my blog to read my new post about cryptocurrencies!
