Smokem Owlyout. By me.

I composed this work of electronic music while I was living in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's probably the first work where I ever used a digital sequencer, and I was running Vision, by Opcode, probably one of the best, if not THE best, piece of music software I've ever owned. There's stuff you could do on it that to this day, nobody else does, but I digress. I'm not sure exactly when I composed this, maybe 2002; since I'm influenced by Dada, translating all of that craziness to music, I'd been using "political speech" from George W. Bush that I'd sampled from speeches that he'd made about the War on Terror; I got a real kick of hearing him say, "Smokem' out!" for some reason. Yes, I'm fuckin' weird; get over it. That contrasts against some of my other stuff, and since I've decided I'm over writing about my music or myself, other than the fact that this work is essentially a sonata, with all the baggage that brings except for the tonality thing, the explanation's over. However, the cover art for this piece is kind of a test, me testing out names for a different but related music project concept that I'm working on with a dude who plays an electric guitar, so it gets stuck on here. It's all kind of Neo-dadaism ism, but explain that to the censors around here.
