We are pleased to have completed the first three weeks of SEC-20 and now we enter into the fourth week with new questions and a few tips. From now on, we are expecting entries that understand the questions asked and are prepared to answer them.

Our topic of the week is "Registration, License, and Taxes."

We come to the topic straight away and share a short description of what we expect from the participants. This week we are expecting specific answers from the users in business or willing to enter a business to stick to the point and avoid generic answers.

Please keep your answers based on your own experiences or what you expect to do if you are willing to enter into a business and find yourself in a situation described below.

Now we know and understand that most businesses listed in this contest so far are small-scale businesses, barring a couple, but running a business successfully, every point is crucial no matter the size of your business.

Section 1- We are interested to know about the registration procedure of your business in your country and how you manage it.

What are the departments that you need to apply for registration and obtaining a clearance to run your business? Please tell us about your running or proposed business only.

Your business can do better if you know about licensing, registration, and taxation strategies to run your business and avoid statutory litigation. Tell us all about what are the government rules for traders and manufacturers or small-scale industries that you fall into.

Section 2- Tell us all about the procedure to obtain any licence/permit etc. to run your business.

Does your business need any permission/licence, or does your company fall under free trade?
What problems do you face with your governments in running a business? If you wish to avoid the description of "under the table payment," you can do that but mention legal commissions if any, etc. at the time of registration.
What problems do you face or are there any obstacles to getting permits/licenses if any, or do you get them easily with the involvement of inspectors/officers?
How long does the procedure take before you get permission from the government authorities?

Section 3- What is the tax structure for traders/manufacturers

What is the Sales Tax/Trade Tax applicable to your business?
What are other tax slabs if your sales are higher than your current sales?
Are you eligible for any tax rebate depending on your business size?
If yes, how do you file your tax return?

Section 4- What are the options in case you face any tax-related problems?

Do you feel you can manage them with the help of professionals, or do you solve them on your own?
Do you have any consumer courts in your country?
Who has the upper hand in case of any disputes between businesses and consumers?
Does your country have any "fair trade" policy?
