NFL National Anthem Controversy and Freedom

The flag is a symbol, it's a piece of cloth. It represents different things to different people. No one should be forced to respect the things that other people respect. If someone is upset by that, they don't understand what freedom is about and do not want freedom. They simply want the freedom to do the things they want to do.

What most people are really upset about here is that other people are not respecting things they hold sacred. Oh well, in a free society, people do not have to respect the same things other people respect.

So protest anyway you like as long as it's peaceful, and if you want to protest the players, you can also protest them as long as it's peaceful. But if you want to live in a free society, you should respect the rights of others to protest things you do not agree with. That's what freedom is about.
