I was wondering why Picasso was rolling on the ground like a maniac.
Well, she had found the catnip sprouts, and she was tripping like crazy!
I guess we all need a good buzz once in a while.

Some information:
Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is a herb that is a member of the mint family.
The chemical compound in the plant that attracts and affects cats is called nepetalactone.
Nepetalactone is a stimulant when sniffed by a cat, producing a "high" that is described as being similar to either marijuana or LSD.
Cats may react to the plant by, flipping over, rolling around and usually being hyperactive.
About half of the cats seem to be affected by catnip, and the behavior varies widely between individuals.

Every year my cat becomes an asshole. He is all fine during the winter when there is no catnip growing in the yard, but once that stuff comes up, he gets all moody, a bit mean, and stand offish. I am forced to pull every one i find growing if I want him to be mellow.
