It has taken me the whole of the weekend trying to have this up but finally it is ready.
It is 1:48 AM Monday morning over here as I write this up. Those who have been reading my posts know that I am a late sleeper and late riser as well. Lunch time is breakfast time in my house. 😀😀
Anyway, let me share my Saturday experience with you.
At around 1:30 PM my older brother [@youngvic] and I decided to go out and clear our heads after long working hours over the week. It is always a good idea to go out and take a breath of fresh air especially if you live within and around the Capital City, Nairobi.
We drove and arrived there in about 20-25 minutes.

It is a weekend and as expected there were several people already there. Kenyan families, European-Kenyans and probably tourists as well. It was a great bunch of people looking to have a nice time in the wild. I actually met a young French couple in the forest. The guy had just proposed on the side of the trail and she said yes. Shame I never got a picture of them for my post.
Anyway, we did not carry our own bikes so we had to hire two for 500KSH or $5 each. The first one I had rented had a problem with the gear mechanism and so I had to exchange it for a functioning one. That took about 10 minutes and soon we were off into the nature trail.
And the lovers went in two by two...
Great place to have a walk or a ride with your girlfriend.
This is one of the best places to come and have a romantic walk, maybe a picnic. There are several benches all along the nature trail where you can have a rest and re-energize.
The air is so clean and fresh. It is so quiet and serene apart from the usual voices of people sharing this amazing experience with you.
Taking a break on the sidelines.
My brother, @youngvic had conveniently forgotten to suggest that I carry some more suitable cycling clothing in a bag. To be honest, I should have probably figured it out on my own but I regrettably didn't.
I had a heavy grey hoodie on and fitting khaki trousers to complete the look. Luckily I am always in rubbers and that saved me from getting blisters on the bottom of my feet.
I had to take of the hoodie as we took a much deserved break. I felt lighter once I took it off.
@youngvic poses for some great shots. Do I have a future as a photographer?? 😀😀😀😀
Putting my best foot forward ... My brother making sure the bills get paid - LOL
After we had reached the furthest end or what we thought was the furthest end we took a bunch of pictures and headed to a bench close by to relax.
Taking a moment to rest before heading back.
Saturday is also a working day for a freelancer like me and my brother so he took sometime to make sure he pays his bills. Having a simple laptop to carry around is a freelancers greatest tool. You can conveniently work from remote places around the country.
Putting..putting work!!
An uphill task
I definitely have to get back in shape soon. A few months spent at home after completing campus saw me put on a bit of weight and I went from having an almost well toned body to panting up the steps to my house on the fourth floor.
Struggling up a steep slope to get back to the trail.
I am slowly getting back to full fitness and I might just turn that into another Steemit series. Probably call it, 'Fit to Chubby to Fit Again'. That heading probably needs some work though. 😀😀
Terribly relieved once I reached the top of the hill. Had to commemorate that with a selfie 😀😀.
Finally: [Dtube Video] Heading back to the starting point.
Just so you know, we finally got back to the main gate where we came through. Watch this vlog that I recorded with my phone. I must warn you though, I was recording the video with one hand and holding on to the bicycle with the other. [Shaky Cam Effect]
My one-handed video recording cycling skills were not that great but I managed to edit out the horrible parts out without losing most of the actual footage for the journey back. I hope you enjoy the video. Proceeds from this post will definitely go into acquiring a proper GoPro for better, quality, future vlogs.
If you would like to make a donation towards that goal send me some SBD or Steem. A proper upvote will also do wonders. I will be eternally grateful for the leg up. 😀😀
Next time call me up. Looking for a hiking plan soon. Great photos. You and your brother are like photocopies.

There are so many places I did not include in the video and the pictures. There is a small waterfall too. So many places you could take amazing pictures.
