We all want the upvote but only the skilled ones will get it. Steem is not designed to pay everyone but only those who create value to others. In the future there will be many more people who will earn here but there will be also a big competition for the top spots.
Putting in the effort now will not only pay-off big time because it is so profitable and will be even more profitable in retrospective in a year from now. The most deciding factor is that you can more easily attract a wider audience here by putting in the daily grind and find many followers. I told that to Spencer as well: You two can make it very big here when you start going nuts on Steem. You can make this full-time or part full-time now and when the millions stream to this blockchain it will be your videos and posts that people will see first.

It works very well now in terms of download speed. In Firefox I experience loading issues while in other browsers it works well. Even on the phone it plays brilliantly! In my opinion, DTube might surpass Steemit as the number one Steem platform in 2019 and come close at the end of 2018.

LOL of course the time is now thanks to the upcoming tax deductions, many people still don't realize that, and in February it will only get better as the Government continues to shrink to the lowest common denominator (a.k.a. I assume you come from the United States. I think over there you only have to pay taxes on what you take out of Steem by changing it into Fiat. Something I rarely ever do because I keep most of my earnings in Steem Power.

To be honest, always when I watch your videos and I see you in the plantation, I think to myself "is he lost?" hahaha
You make great content, though. You can see that because a lot of people are being very genuine and don't just comment "follow me and I'll follow you". This is so annoying because it's only about building a community and relationships with people. This is exactly the reason why I addressed this issue today.

Embedding DTube in Steemit is not supported right now. Busy.org has it already implemented. Check out this post over there: https://busy.org/dtube/@flauwy/9qgvgenb
But it will come to Steemit as well. Outside of the Steem ecosystem it is not supported at all I think. But that will also change this year I think. Version 0.6 is onts way.
