Today I am out in the garden working to protect my investments. That may sound a bit odd coming from a gardener, but that is how I view my crops and fruit trees. I see them as investments and stores of value. The food that I grow I can either eat and save monetary value, I can trade it for monetary value, or I can even give it away.
One of the best ways for me to protect my investments in the garden is with fencing, and I use two forms of defense to keep out critters like bunnies.
After I began viewing my garden from an investment standpoint is when I started getting into cryptocurrency.
I view crypto’s like Steem and Bitcoin as stores of value which are much safer than fiat, because of their multiple forms of “fencing”, through several facets such as a decentralized ledger and cryptography.
I am not the most knowledgable person when it comes to crypto, but I am looking to learn a lot more in the near future. It took me some time to see the light of crypto, but my eyes are more open then they have ever been, and I am excited to expand my understanding.
Steem has been the main crypto that “sold” me, and helped me to embrace this new, and I believe better future.
If any of you have some good reference links from Steemit posts, or any suggestions on podcasts please comment a link below. Even if some of my words here are not completely accurate, I ask that you give me some constructive criticism, so I can have a more thorough understanding of how all of this works.
A special thanks to @rawutah for guiding me into this amazing blockchain, I wouldn’t be here without you brother!
Please follow and Resteem if you enjoyed this video and post!

bro....feeling you! i love the comment above...and agree completely..about the information you share..and your forest being the greatest store of value. BUT..i also feel you on your desire to LEARN more about this space. here's some spots i have enjoyed learning:
audiobooks/books: "the bitcoin standard" and "digital gold"
podcasts: crypto 101
steem blockchain: @exyle and @theycallmedan and the @pennsif radio show.
once you start understanding the history...and applying you research into how much of it all fits together...it becomes as much of a passion as gardening lol! it did for me. they are sooooo linked up! dfood and decentralized living! blockchain technology. steem...in my opinion is the most interesting of all. delegated proof of stake..and the community is thriving! the DAPPS! i love it here! just keep powering UP...and growing that SP...while helping the community to grow! i think your newest video nailed it! dtube and dfood!
hit me up with any questions....ANYTIME! it's such an honor to have you here on the steem blockchain bro! let's GOOOOO!

Hey man, right on, I really love your videos, I think you share a lot of valueable information, and I believe that information is the greatest store of value, because without the information that gave you the inspiration to start gardening on the level that you do, you would not be here now, with all of that physical valie that you have created due to your knowledge.
Knowledge is power!
Are you looking for sources on trading cryptos, strictly investing for long term, personal crypto picks, or are you just wanting to learn more about blockchain and anything that might be cutting edge in todays world? Let me know specifics and I'll be glad to share.
I do a great ammount of researching myself and absorb a lot of my information through reading and video as well(I'm interested in trying out Dtube). I am very interested in anything revolutionary, anything that will carry us forward and away from the destructive path of petroleum based products. That is why I'm starting a hemp farm.
I took my PDC in 2016 and will be developing a permaculture hemp farm as a working model for a permaculture business that can thrive and be regenerative at the same time, if your interested in seeing the projects that I will be starting and want to see more info on permaculture, spirituality, art, and crypto, then give me a follow and stay tuned.
Thanks, and may you live your bliss!

Thank you @open3ye!
You’re absolutely right my friend, knowledge is an incredible store of value.
I am looking to gain a better understanding of blockchain and the way it will be implemented in the future. I hear things like “protocol” and “smart contracts” but don’t have a good enough grasp on how it all applies.
When it comes to investing, I am mainly looking for long positions like here in Steemit, but am also interested in up and coming projects in the crypto space.
Ohhhh very nice!!! I fellow permaculture enthusiast, I love it!!!!
That is a fascinating idea, I think hemp can have a big future in several different industries.
Thanks for reaching out my friend, and I will be open to any suggestions you have 😁🙏

Right on! Yah smart contracts and the protocols that enable them to function properly are complicated subjects, I am still pretty unfamiliar with it myself, all I know is that smart contracts have the ability to create games, apps, and much more on the blockchain that it is enacted on, I also know that there are 2 different types of smart contracts that allow different things but the specifics of it I am unsure. Then "protocols" are the set of rules upon which that code or "smart contract" is written.
It gets much more complicated than that but I stopped researching beyond that part of crypto because I have no intention to create decentralized applications and Im not a computer scientist, I'm a permaculturist so I feel that the knowledge isnt relative to what I'm doing in life.
I think you are doing what I was doing a few months ago, which was searching for more answers and more understanding to how it works, and how much of this info do I really need to know in order to utilize crypto to my advantage?
And the answers that I found were that people can write permanent agreements into a blockchain by utilizing its computer coding and "protocols" in order to make a contract on whatever they want be it a car sale, a rental agreement, an inventory ledger, a personal agreement, you name it. I'm pretty positive that thats how partiko was created.
And as far as my opinion on some of the best long positions currently out there are with Cardano because it is build and developed by a team of scientists including a man who helped create Ethereum. They created it with the purpose of solving the major problems with blockchain and creating a superior science-based and proof-checked cryptocurrency.
And my other choice, which is actually what I have most of my holdings in, is Sirin Token by Sirin Labs which created the worlds first blockchain based cellphone if you have not heard of it, check it out: https://sirinlabs.com/ The phone is increadible and I truly believe that this year they are going to explode, along with quite a few other alt-coins.
If there is anything else your interested in let me know.
Blessings!
