Loads of people think they hold EOS and not a representative token so won’t bother (or don’t know) that they have to resister these onto the new blockchain.
Loads of EOS tokens will be lost when the blockchain goes live, reducing the supply, which could further lift the price.

Dan has a plan to allow EOS token holders late registration. No tokens will be lost.

That makes a lot of sense... It should be like that! It would be very much appreciated if @dan himself confirms it with a reply here!!!

I think we are happy for that.. or we ? :) @dan @iamra8 @peaches88 @liondani

Many people who have bought are late comers to crypto. They have bought because they see it going up. They will have no idea how to register, even with guides like those produced on here. Ethereum has a more simplistic presale and the majority of buyers were crypto literate. This is a different time and different t people hold the coins!

Any EOS tokens purchased directly through the crowdsale (eos.io) website will need to be registered. EOS token bought on an exchange don't need to be registered???

My understanding is that you need to have the Ether address that holds the coins at the time of the snapshot, around 23 hours after the crowd sale ends if I recall, registered. There are instructions on eos.io.

Alternatively I expect any coins sitting on a reputable exchange will be converted for you.

It would be amazing if the OPEN.EOS sitting in a Bitshares account would automatically convert. Can anyone confirm that?

I would hope so but I don't really use Bitshares very much. So maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Okay I will check it out on eos.io thanks.

EOS Tokens purchased on an exchange do need to be registered. Mine are registered. You need to use MEW or Metamask. I put mine in MEW then registered my wallet. You need ETH to register your wallet. Actually my BF did it for me but I think that's how it was done.

Okay cool thanks I have done it now with Metamask thank you.

I believe that you need to register both the ones you purchased through the crowd sale and ones traded for on an exchange.

Okay cool thanks.

That is awesome, I think the ico proces was too difficult for 95% of the people.. So a late registration process would be great

I sure hope there's a way around that. It would be a huge PR hit for EOS if a bunch of people don't get their tokens.

They have done their fair share of effort to ensure this fact is known.

Thank you very much for this, I bought EOS a while ago and never even heard of this, shame on me, I have just followed MyEtherWallet registration and sent my EOS tokens bought from Bitfinex to that wallet. You saved my day, here's 100%

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Great point, I think it could lift the price indeed.

Is anyone planning to sell in June, and then buy back later without having to register?

What do you mean by register onto the new blockchain and how to do it I am holding a lot of EOS and I don't want to lose them?

Does anybody know about holding the representative tokens on either Exodus or BitShares? The BitShares exchange says the following:

But I am wondering if people feel comfortable with that or what they suppose is the most secure way to guarantee proper delivery of the actual token.

Exodus, afaik, doesn't deal in any kind of representative tokens... it's holding the actual token. But I note that Exodus is a closed source wallet, so how comfortable are you with trusting it with your coins? (Fwiw, I use and like Exodus, but I don't trust it for long-term/bulk storage; really wish it were open source)

The counterparty risk on OPEN.EOS is not significantly different from the risk in depositing your tokens to Binance or any other centralized exchange: you're trading your actual coins, controlled by your keys, for an IOU. On centralized exchanges, the IOU is just a number on a website; on BitShares/OpenLedger, the IOU is itself a cryptocurrency. Technically you're a bit better off with OPEN.EOS than with centralized exchanges, since the IOU is itself secured by blockchain technology rather than web technology.

Now hopefully you're not holding tokens on exchanges long-term, so holding OPEN.EOS long-term is like trusting a centralized exchange with your balance. That's not ideal, so you may want to withdraw the OPEN.EOS to real EOS as soon as you're done trading and want to hold.

Bitshares is a decentralized exchange.

Yes, and open.eos is a user issued asset on that exchange, meaning someone else is holding the real coins for you.

Don't risk it. There may ultimately be many EOS.IO blockchains created. Having your own keys in your own possession is critical. Think about all those BTC forks that various exchanges decided not to support...

Binance registration is open

When will Eos blockchain will go live, I am holding EOS in binance will it automatically get converted or I have to register these onto new blockcahin.

EOS goes live in June I believe. I have no idea if binnance will convert for you but I certainly wouldn’t hold anything on an exchange. They are for exchanging and should not be used as a wallet unless you are happy to lose your coins/ tokens. If you don’t control the private keys you don’t really own the asset.

Crazy EOS, Steem and Bts are also slow-bombs

Wow that's a moonshot!

I like EOS I think that it only needs for time for reflecting the idea in price :)

I also got many EOS, I hope for the best :)

what is its prospect after 6 months

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting.

Could you please do an update on DigiByte?

what changed in the last 14 minutes?? lol wait this is crypto so probably a lot...

How do i add a comment on the post?!!

I feel like I missed the boat so bad on EOS I never want in lol,

I was about to drop some in back in late October just before it went rocketing up :(

Hey, it's under $6 now so this may be the best second chance you'll ever get!

EOS platform launches July 2018, this is blockchain 3.0 technology. Ether is essentially blockchain 2.0 and EOS will solve the issues Ether can't. You have enough time to invest now and get HUGE gains when the platform launches and when Apps are built upon it.

Still has huge upside for 2018. Don't miss the boat again!

Never. Too. Late.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Great opportunity now to buy the f***ing dip! Especially with EOS/ETH trading pairs. I just picked up another 100 EOS on Binance for 0.8 ETH. That's a real bargain!

haha I say that too much these days...

Never too late, you can still make 10x or even 100x gains.

Ahh, little help for a noob please. If I buy EOS on via Binance or Gate.io would I still need to take this next step of registering? Or do those entities do that for users?

You still have to take that step. By registering with them, they know who to send the permanent token to. This token is just a placeholder for now. It's a way of "mapping" where the EOS tokens went.

Sir,
Can you please provide an update on Bitcoin Gold (BTG) the volume seem to be stuck at around 300 and its trying to breakout.

Thank you sir,

thanks for info ;)

Thank you Haejin for your wonderful work. Can we get an updated chart on DGB pretty please? In dollars would be helpful. Thanks so much.

Wow great analysis! keep it up! EOS to the moon!

HI, if I buy EOS on exchange, do I need to register to hold that? or oit's simple like or other currency, just buy and keep?

You need to register your Ethereum address which hold your EOS tokens, even if you bought them from an exchange.

that is a high target, but will see what happens!

That seems like a very reasonable target by late summer after the blockchain has gone live.

Yeah it seems high but like he mentioned in his videos "news" comes after he makes these projections. If EOS does make blockchain mainstream and Dan does in fact have some major players developing on EOS then think of the news about "EOS blockchain 3.0 and internet 2.0 AND DAC's" can you talk about a game changer all in one move. In addition Dan is building this platform to build other apps on it. Also the flood gates haven't even been open yet; major exchanges aren't taking new members right now. So what happens when the flood gates open and the news starts pouring in? Yes there are a lot of coins that will keep the price

Dan a prévu d'autoriser les détenteurs de jetons EOS à s'inscrire tardivement. Aucun jeton ne sera perdu.

D-tube has lagging and not working android.

Does ZRX has the same patron as EOS?

Interesting video to follow.
I'm just curious how you picked the levels for number 3, 4 and 5 at the very end? Are there any measures used to estimate or guess the size of a rise once the bulls eventually win? Or how do you judge whether a coin has reached its top?

Would be great to hear you give your thoughts!

DTube link not working, says not supported video format...DTube has to step their game up...great idea but lacking in execution!

So where can you buy EOS currently. Does anyone own any EOS and what is the best way to buy and store it if possible. Isn't in the process of a year-long ICO?

Great and ambitious analysis Haejin, congrats !

Good and helpful information.thanks for the The chart I will be following you...@resteem.

Walletinvestor predict future values with technical analysis for wide selection of digital coins like EOS. If you are looking for virtual currencies with good return, EOS can be a profitable investment option. EOS price equal to 9.410 USD at 2018-01-08. If you buy EOS for 100 dollars today, you will get a total of 10.627 EOS.

Nice post..also upvote me

I truly hope EOS' price will go up, not only because I invested in it but also because I believe in the blockchain being useful to society. Platforms like ETH, EOS and Ark are part of the future.

So....if you used EOS as ONLY a payment system to and from 2 parties....it's already more useful than bitcoin, cheaper than bitcoin, and faster than bitcoin. Useless tokens are often valued at very high values.

Cool ..
Please vote my post

Disagree. Would like to know your reasons for such opinion.

Dan has responded to my messages on here and has said specifically that EOS does not entitle you to any of the profits or revenues received by block.one. Keep in mind EOS is an ERC-20 token!! It's not a cryptocurrency and is ONLY used as a fundraising opportunity for block.one. When I first heard about the project, I was super excited and loved it. The more I found out about the ICO and the token, it just doesn't make sense to me. EOS provides tools and is the "operating system" for blockchain database projects. It's NOT its own blockchain like how Ethereum is. EOS will absolutely be awesome and successful, but this will NOT directly translate to profits in the token. The token will just be something people think they want to trade just because. Absolutely no usage with EOS and no benefit to holding in terms of PoS. I'd love to see sources that prove me wrong, but my opinion is based off of interactions with Dan and everything else that I've actually read and know about the ICO and token.

It is precisely this type of analysis that has caused many, many people to miss out on EOS. Even though it is true that there are no specific guarantees we will receive the profits received by the block.one group, who are the core development team, we are still on the ground floor of what will likely be the Standard Oil (EXXON) Ford or Apple of the 21st Century. The only risk we take is whether the project will be that successful or not. (What fortune teller would be able to give specific guarantees on the future?)

The core developers are probably sacrificing many comforts and ease of living to be able to make their contribution to this project. They are in a class of their own and have blood, sweat and tears in the game. But it is pure cynicism to think that those of us who dare take the risk to back this project from the outset, with our meager resources even, are going to be cheated in the end.

EOS knows they need the wider public at large to adopt and use their product. The "Endless ICO" is a way to see that tokens are very widely distributed among the general population and at an affordable rate. We have the opportunity to be direct Venture Capitalists even though we are not "Accredited Investors." Nothing ventured -- nothing gained.

Excellent response. Several moons ago when Haejin first projected EOS to $3, people were up in arms about how that was IMPOSSIBLE. Literally saying it is NOT possible. Heated debate, and here we are now. Don't listen to folks talking this way. They tend to believe that they know something that nobody else can see, or that what they think will happen will definitely happen. Over and Over and Over we have seen this very blog prove those people wrong....again and again and again. Good Comment!

To me this is a key section in the FAQ (https://eos.io/faq.html):

  1. When will I receive native cryptographic tokens on the EOS Platform?

As mentioned above, EOS Tokens will become fixed (non-transferable) on the Ethereum blockchain within 23 hours after the end of the final EOS Token distribution period which will occur on June 1, 2018 at 22:59:59 UTC. At this point the EOS Token distribution process will be complete and any person who wishes to launch an EOS Platform adopting the EOS.IO Software will be able to generate a JSON file mapping EOS public keys to the fixed balances of the EOS Tokens from the state of the Ethereum blockchain.

The EOS.IO Software is built such that any EOS Platform that adopts the EOS.IO Software will require approval of holders of not less than 15% of the total issued and outstanding EOS Tokens before tokens on such blockchain (the “Blockchain Tokens”) can be transferred. In other words, if the EOS.IO Software is adopted, it will be the responsibility of holders holding at least 15% of the issued and outstanding EOS Tokens to adopt one or more blockchains in order for Blockchain Tokens received on such blockchains to be transferrable.

As block.one will not configure and/or launch any EOS Platform, block.one will have no control over when, how or whether the EOS.IO Software is adopted or implemented, or how, when or whether the EOS Platform is launched. As such, you should not expect and there is no guarantee that you will receive any other cryptographic tokens or digital assets now or in the future.

What this says to me is that EOS token holders will be part of any blockchain that makes use of the EOS.IO software and that there will be some voting mechanism such that only projects that receive >= 15% yes votes will be able to create a useable blockchain. Now, if this software is open source I suppose that the code could be changed to shut out EOS holders or eliminate the voting restriction, but to @lyfo's point, that's a cynical view and also, who would want to use a product built by a group who would attack the investors who made it possible?

EOS is an opportunity to be in on the ground floor. The value of your initial investment could be multiplied many times over if several EOS.IO blockchains are created.

Have some faith!

Hmmm. Thanks for translating that for us. It's not my first faith-based investment. I do understand WHY the red flags came up, that indeed it has all been a little nebulous as to what we are getting with the EOS token. If it were stated that way by total unknowns off the street, the response might be negative -- like keep it yourself. But the track record, especially of STEEMIT, where you can't even tell you're on a block chain; well, it makes a big difference WHO is saying it.

As it is, they are making the evolutionary TOOL (like some souped-up 21st Century computer) and inviting developers to go to work on it, under very favorable terms -- like for free. As investors we will have a little piece of the action in multiple projects, some that haven't yet been dreamed up, to provide services that are not even possible today.

For those of you who are neither developer, hacker nor geek and you could use a down-to-earth analogy to understand EOS, try Kyle at The Awakenment for a series of talks on the subject.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Again, if you only used the token as a monetary transfer, it's already more useful, faster, and cheaper than bitcoin. BTC doesn't "do" anything either. Yes it has capabilities that may be used one day, but it's just as valuable as EOS in the sense of it's use. So why is it worth so much then? Because we decided it was, just like EOS. Just like Useless Ethereum Token which is traded on the market, and has value. And it's own creator specifically said DONT BUY THIS IT'S WORTHLESS. You're basing your statements on a purely fundamental view of the token. This blog has proven that the fundamentals just do not tell the whole story....in fact, they miss most of it until after the fact. We were told that EOS would never be worth $3, because it's IMPOSSIBLE based on the coin cap, the distribution model....etc...etc....and here we stand today.

Based on your reasoning, almost no ERC should have any value whatsoever, but yet, they do. It is a new model for the token world, and one that is showing great promise for the trading and investing community.

Explain how it's bad and how its not going to be its own blockchain?

see reply on the thread below....

You haven't done your homework. EOS is what makes blockchain technology mainstream; it is blockchain 3.0 and internet 2.0. EOS translated means diamond; it is the rare diamond in all of crypto-space. SELL your ETH when EOS launches because it will be ETH that will have its days numbered. ETH's utility is ICO's and when developers can launch on a cheaper and better product (EOS) why would they build on ETH. DAN has two really successful projects under his belt steemit + bitshares. Did you know that 90% of start ups fail ? This project is about as good as it gets. Major players will have 6 months to develop their applications until launch. When this EOS launches and it goes mainstream it will shoot up to the top of the charts like lightning. Dan already has major players interested and developing their applications. Go watch his interviews for "golden nuggets".

Are you referring to this video?

No; Haven't watched that one. Dan has done a number of interviews where you can find more information on EOS. Another big tip is BIG MONEY moved into EOS and I'm not talking about the retail buyer.

You can always fork ya know, it's probably Dans plan
