K-Boom: Celebrating Korean Fashion | FASHION FILM | itsnicoletv 📺💃🏻✨

I made this fashion film in 2015. In 2015, Karl Lagerfeld predicted that the fashion world would soon be obsessed with South Korea. He is right. Today, I doubt that we would get all 19 designers to collaborate with us. They would be too busy sending their fashion samples to major publications like Vogue or Harpers Bazaar. South Korea is booming and all eyes are on Seoul’s thriving fashion industry and young designer talent.

My partner took photos, and I shot the film. Then I flew back home and spent an entire month editing. I loved it. There was no client, nor a fixed brief, but also no pay. If only Steemit was around back then 😉 We just hoped that some magazine would pick it up and feature it.

While in post-production it took me a full week to figure out the animation style. I did a bunch of tests and I didn't want to waste any work, so I just included every single test into the film. The fail bits come in from minute 1:08, there where it goes a bit mental. At least it suits that crazy song from Idiotape 😅

The name of the film is K-Boom and it plays with the idea of pop art and bright geometric shapes using jewellery and garments from a mix of emerging and established Korean Designers:
