Video Series For DTube/Steemit Beginners

Thank you I've been trying to learn a little more about Smart Media Tokens, I want to be an early starter for one of these SMT sites that might be the next Steemit.

The very first one should be:

How to log in to DTube and Steemit
Where do you find all those super really long passwords.
Can they be changed
How does it work just to log in?
I had the hardest time figuring this out and all the videos that I watch there is ALWAYS at least 2 people that say dtube is great but I cant sign in. I cant up vote. It is extremely annoying when there are ZERO simple steps to tell you how to do it. Like first you have to log into steemit with that ridiculous long password and then when you go over to DTube you need another ridiculously long password that is someplace in your channels wallet that is on the steemit blog of your channel! Seriously it's so dumb and they wonder why people are using Bitchute and Minds.com. It is just WAY to complicated. But that's an idea:>}

and i was wondering, when can, my post can get alot of upvote in my post? like someone else's post
whether it affects with steempower or does not affect steempower,
how do i go
because I am still a beginner or still a low level to get more upvote?

Your steem power definitely doesn't stop you from getting more upvotes! Part of the reason users with a bigger following or more steem power get more votes is because people are trying to earn curation rewards. One great way for new users to get bigger upvotes is to post on a site like DTube, because you might get an @dtube vote 😀

Hi @jeffbernst, I really like your idea and I have followed you to make sure that I get to see your videos when they come out! You mentioned making one video on how Steem "creates money out of thin air" and I have looked into this a bit but haven't come up with a satisfactory answer. Essentially, what I have found, is that Steem releases new tokens every time a new block is generated, but that doesn't really answer where those tokens receive their value from. What I'm assuming is that Steem is counting on the fact that the quality of the content generated on the platform will drive up viewership and that will, in turn, drive up the value of the tokens for investors, but ??? I'm not really sure about that. In any case, great idea for a series of videos and I look forward to seeing them. Thanks!

Oh yeah, also a video explaining witnesses might be useful.

Good call on making a video about witnesses!

I definitely want to do some more research before I make the video about how Steem creates value. But from my understanding, the price for pretty much all cryptocurrencies right now is set by speculation in the market. Steem is currently at about $3.50 because that's what supply and demand has dictated.

Like Bitcoin, there isn't much you can use Steem or SBD for, but as the market grows for products and services that can be purchased with cryptocurrencies, the value will be based less around speculation. With Steem, there's the potential for markets to open up that take SBD for goods or services. Also, as the platform grows, people might be willing to buy Steem less as a speculative investment, and more as a way to increase their visibility on Steemit or DTube and earn more curation rewards.

Here's an interesting quote from this article that take a look at what goes into the value of bitcoin:

Bitcoin's value depends on "transactional" and "reservation" demand.

It is important to note that the total market value of a currency, its "monetary base", is driven by two things, transactional demand and reservation demand. We can think of Bitcoin's average daily "float" as the analog of our economy's M1 money supply - the currency needed to satisfy transactional demand for goods and services. Similarly, we can think of the Bitcoins which are "hoarded" by speculative investors as the currency needed to satisfy reservation demand for secure long-term savings. Combined, Bitcoin's float and reserves comprise its total monetary base, which is similar to our economy's M2 money supply (M1+money in savings deposits, money markets, etc).

So the monetary base relies on both consumers and investors who believe that the Bitcoin technology will power a certain volume of economic exchange today and in the future. Speculative investors in particular have shown an extraordinary willingness to buy BTC, leading to a much larger monetary base than would otherwise be expected for a currency with bitcoin's transactional volume.

And that's ok! As long as the transactional demand for Bitcoin continues to grow exponentially in the coming years, the balance between Bitcoin's float and its total monetary base will likely reflect that of other global currencies.
