In Japan, many receptionist, sales people's, news readers are robots. Are human improving our existence or creating for our selves hell. A robot only does what humans have programmed them to do. All a computer does is add or subtract really fast. That's it! A computer's ability to do just that really, really fast...far faster than humans can do is the computer's only "accomplishment". Sure, you can program feelings, but they are superficial feelings . These "feelings" just mimic actual/real human feelings.
Sure, robotics and artificial intelligence have advanced quite a bit and will continue to do so, but there are always those intangibles that humans are able to do much better and will always be able to do much better than robots.
For example, can robots effectively understand body language? Sarcasm? Jokes? Impossible. Can robots feel pain? Can robots genuinely empathize with others?
