What are Gyms In CHINA Like? - Inside A Local Fitness Center in Qinhuangdao (秦皇岛)

What are gyms in China like you might ask? Come with me, I'll show you!

Gyms in China are usually smaller and gym memberships are more expensive than the gyms you might find in the West. This gym is actually pretty good relatively speaking. Some gyms barely have any equipment and focus more on treadmills, bikes and classes while at the same time being quite expensive. This is the best gym in my vicinity that has a decent sized free-weight section for weightlifting as well as the typical machines.

This gym cost me 1899 RMB for a year (about $290 USD) and it is only a short bus ride to arrive right in front of it.

Gyms in China are getting better as the government is encouraging more Chinese people to get physically active. Many Chinese people hate exercising but I think they will embrace more in the near future.

This gym is located in the city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. (河北省,秦皇岛市)
