Good Post, well thought out and researched!
I would like to also mention, what I call the "X" factor, if you will.
And that basically is "what came before you".
I am now old enough to have recognized a few things.
Short version, there are people who come from a long line of "meat eaters".
Besides their physical make-up being designed to consume meat, their mind is as well - in all aspects.
I myself am not a "vegan", though I eat very, little meat. And very selective as to what.
I also believe what You eat, influences what & how You think.
Thanks Again For Posting!

Absolutely, our genetics play a huge role, as do environmental factors, our gut biome, what our body has adapted to through our lifetime, etc. My "vegan activism" really only goes as far as cooking tons of delicious vegan food for people, answering questions, and calling BS on unfounded claims. In reality, I speak/write a lot more mindful eating, the need for each of us to really explore what our bodies need.
I don't make it a habit of challenging or debating people about veganism; my issue in this particular case was the lack of evidence, research, science to back up the sweeping claims being made.
Thanks for dropping in with a thoughtful comment :-)

Conclusion, the extremes are always bad, it is better a balance 🥰 @kennyskitchen

Wow, great job taking the time to logically counter all of those points. So many of those just baffle me that I don't know that I would have had as much patience to even justify a response!

Thanks! It was actually just the inspiration I needed, I haven't done much writing in months, and as soon as I watched that video this came through :-)

Fabulous to see a well thought out and supported post. I love the way you advocate for mindful eating which to me is the crux. Having lived a largely plant based life - my folks were - my first concern, when I'm feeling unwell, is not meat, but as you say, many other dietary factors that contribute to health. I'm really glad you responded to @tonysayers33 response as dialogue is everything - you've countered beautifully and I appreciate how intelligently you've backed yourself. Buzzwords and blah blah - I think that's why I admire the 'mindful eating' phrase so much vs 'vegan'. Sadly it's become such a word of connotations and division when all we need to do is really look a bit deeper into the whole issue and think for ourselves once we have as many facts to hand as possible. I do think we're progressing in that regard - it's so cool to see so many vegan options in both restaurants, cafes and supermarkets which help people make that transition so much easier. Much love.
