Trump gave a speech and reopened the government for three weeks to negotiate border security and get federal workers paid. Many Trump supporters were disappointed, and thought he caved and Democrats gloated, but it’s not over yet. There is a good chance Democrats will give him nothing and he will declare an emergency to build the wall at the end of three weeks. I think if this is challenged it will be upheld as its clearly within his powers to declare emergencies and to secure the border from crime and illegal immigration. There is no right to illegal immigration. Want asylum? Apply for it at a port of entry.
