gave us valuable insights on the limitations of this technology and on how to improve the current model.

Can you elaborate on these details and/or create another post to explain what limitations you couldn't work around on the Steem mainnet?

I will do that on my blog, but the article explains a bit (liquid DTC, non capped VP, voting on tags, etc), also the whitepaper has an appendice on 'avalon' with a complete list of the differences.

Thank you.

I'm happy for you and how far you've come (I remember setting up an IPFS test server for you so long ago!) but I'm also just a little sad how this chain didn't meet your needs. I'm glad you made the decision to honor the Steem community with a combined integration. I see blockchains working together as the future.

The UI combines it kinda okay, I think a few people had issues and had to relogin or clean cache, but I'm indeed proud of the cross-posting / cross-voting / cross-commenting feature.

If you check the json data inside DTube videos now, you will see a 'refs' field which basically references on which other chains you can also find this content. As you can see, it's an array and it would be trivial to extend it to any other chain able to store JSON contents as a tree.
