Late AWO, (as he then was) held several offices amongst the offices is the notable one; he was the then First premier of the Western Region and a distinguished elder in the society that he was named the Leader of Yorubas.

He made education affordable for all and sundry and was able to eradicate illiteracy among Nigerians with his “Free Education Scheme” where government bears the cost of education of all (Public Students) attending government schools across the Western region (as it's then was) during his tenure as premier.
