Try replacing the word socialism you written with the word "capitalism". Sometimes we need to balance the system once we have had too much of say Capitalism or Socialism. This should be done through the voting system. But what happens when both main political parties are pro capitalism then we get out of balance. Under capitalism the Very Rich (Like the 1%) get richer and the rest gets poorer. Under Socialism this reverses and the poor starts getting the trickle down economic benefits that the capitalists always promise they do but don't. The in reality we really need both Capitalism and Socialism but to be balanced. But with the current system of Capitalism is corrupt when you have powerful lobbyist influencing policies for the 1% in spite of the rest of society.
