Sup man, I saw you on that one mountain drifting post
How are you liking Dtube? I want to start uploading my youtube videos on there as well.

Also, is it cheaper to wrap a car or plastidip?

DRIFT ON!!

Plastidip is much cheaper. I paid about $400 for the entire roll of vinyl and spent almost 4 whole days wrapping the car. It should be much quicker, but I had no idea what I was doing. That 2 minute video was about 3 hours of work to actually wrap. The huge benefit to plastidip is that you just spray it on! I haven't ever used it except back in the day when it was being used to add rubber grips to tools. Now they've got a ton of ways you can use it. I went for wrap just because i think its more durable, but your dip is going to require a clean working area. I dont know if you would spray it without having an enclose garage, otherwise youre going to get dust particles all over your finished product. Thats the main reason i didnt go with paint.

dtube is alright. its not a youtube since you cannot drop a link into your blog and have it play on your page. When they fix that, i think it'll be great. The other downside is the ridiculously slow upload times, but as the system grows and they get a faster server and connection, i think we will see it improve!

I just finished watching the video. Forget plastidip, I think I want to wrap now haha. Did you guys strip the paint down to bare metal or is that just the stock paint color? I couldn't tell.

you dont need to strip the paint at all. in fact you dont even need to sand it. I just had to because my car is so old that the paint was peeling off. I accidently wrapped my driver side door without sanding the lower portion of it. When I lifted the vinyl to adjust it, I pulled a whole sheet of paint off and my vinyl wouldn't stick anymore. so that was about $8 of vinyl that I threw out. :( Most new cars get vinyl to change the color without voiding the warranty since you have to remove so much stuff to actually get a good wrap job.

Nice. I watched all the videos of you wrapping the bmw. Doesn't look difficult. $400 and a few days sounds a whole lot better than buying the dip, a compressor that can even run a paint gun, the paint gun, and all the other miscellaneous stuff I would need and will never use again. I would just need to buy vinyl and I would be done as far as materials go.

Dtube looks like a very early version of vid.me but with actual incentives to post. Vidme quickly turned into a circlejerk of content creators and no real viewers so I left that platform really quick. At least on Dtube/steem, interactions actually mean something. Its cool that anyone accessing steem can access and interact with dtube and vice versa. In any case, couldn't hurt to be on Dtube as well.
