hey there i'm including this post into my 'hello human' blog post that highlights posts on dtube and comments on them for engagement especially if they have no comments like this did. this is super timely and THANK YOU for making people aware of it! do you have a top 3 points of what you like about bitchute btw? i'd love to know!

Sorry, I hadn’t noticed your comment before! Top 3 points about BitChute? Let’s see:

  1. Auto Importing Videos from my YouTube channel? Upon publishing, is an extremely handy way of mirroring content, it was one of the features that actually attracted me to the platform in the first place!

  2. Due to the lack of censorship, and algorithmic manipulation, I actually get a decent amount of views and engagement! I only have about the quarter of the subscribers that I do on my YouTube channel, but I get WAY more views and upvotes on BitChute.

  3. They are truly Alt-Tech. While I had a lot of fun on VidMe when they were around, from a technical sense they weren’t that much different from YouTube, which is why they failed, they couldn’t possibly afford the cost of hosting all of those videos themselves. BitChute’s webtorrent served videos is why their costs are low, and it is the reason they’ll succeed as a competitor!

I’m really enjoying Dtube by the way :) the one big downside I do find though, is just the fact that after some time, the videos expire, but other than that? I’m loving it :)

yeah you can actually get a $10 ish package to have your dtube files served up for unlimited time. i see it as it supports the network too. i'll be doing that eventually, ipfs server hosting costs but i think that's pretty reasonable pricing -- thanks for talking the time to right out the top thing i'll certainly be looking into it! :)

Oh I didn’t know that! Where do you find that?

sure, over here -- https://oneloved.tube -- under the one love ipfs. you can find the store and the monthly sub. then on dtube you can select from the drop down to host there. it will stay online as long as you are a sub i believe. $10 aint that much is it really -- i kinda wanna get a year package but i have lots of upgrades to do right now.

Very cool, I don’t know if I’d do a $10 monthly just yet, but I might in the future, there’s a few platforms and creators I’d like to be able to support when the time is right :)

yeah exactly, that's where my head is at for sure.
