Just a few days ago a dear friend of mine lost his wife to cancer. Reflecting on this, I decided to share this song (I wasn't even sure I could make it through it). This song is a song of comfort and encouragement in times of loss especially this Christmas. A reminder of the Hope we have for those who are in Christ Jesus. Thus, the whole reason Jesus was even born. May this be a blessing and comfort today as you reflected on the loved ones and friends that are with the Lord this Holiday Season.
Lyrics:
VERSE 1
It is not death to die
To leave this weary road
And join the saints who dwell on high
Who’ve found their home with God
It is not death to close
The eyes long dimmed by tears
And wake in joy before Your throne
Delivered from our fears
CHORUS
O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die
VERSE 2
It is not death to fling
Aside this earthly dust
And rise with strong and noble wing
To live among the just
It is not death to hear
The key unlock the door
That sets us free from mortal years
To praise You evermore
Original words by Henri Malan (1787-1864). Translated by George Bethune (1847). Music, Chorus, and alt. words by Bob Kauflin. - Sovereign Grace Music

Thank you for the song. It is a great reminder for believers. I believe that you are a good friend. There are times when the presence of a friend is worth more than any words. Keep showing up for your friend. Walk with him. Listen to him. Sit through the discomfort with him. Be with him, honor his feelings and emotions. Pray for him.
Blessings

I could not imagine it either. Thankfully he has an amazing group of people around him giving support to him and his 3 boys.
