After waking up with a view over the queen elizabeth olympic park it is time to explore the east of London,
the plan for the day is to walk through the Victoria Park and eventually reach Oxford Circus.
After a short walk through some pure concrete areas I reach the Victoria Park, which is London’s oldest park and one of London’s most important historic parks.
First I walk a wide and open area with a place to play football.
This park opened over 170 years ago for healthy recreation, sports and relaxation. Today, the Victoria Park is visited by over 9 million creatures per year.
I randomly walk by an old English garden that got an extensive refurbishment in 2010.
It was originally laid out in 1916 within a yew hedge with crazy paving, topiary, rose beds, mixed borders and bedding.
My personal highlight is the café, situated at the boating lake, with bread from local food producers, and it’s ample outside seating area directly at the water.
It is November and both the outside seating area and the boating services are unavailable, so I head on.
The Victoria Park has a large children's play area with huge slides, climbing and sand play.
For grown ups the park offers 6 different trails in the park, with audio guides and maps available online, link is in the description.
It was my first time in the Victoria Park and I immediately fell in love, coming back in the summer.
Thank you for watching my video documentary about the victoria park in east London, see you tomorrow.
