The fantasia refers to various traditional equestrian shows simulating military assaults, practiced mainly in the Maghreb, where it is called "game of powder" or "game of horses".
A very ancient practice, it takes mostly the form of equestrian evolutions in which riders, equipped with black powder guns and straddling richly harnessed mounts, simulate a charge of cavalry whose apotheosis is the coordinated shooting of a salvo of their firearms. It can also be carried out on camels or on foot, depending on the region.
