Moonray or 'raggio di Luna' (moonray in Italian) was the French-Brasilian singer Mandy Ligios (born in France in 1963 by Greek father and Brazilian mother) she a dancer and performer, known for her participation in Jesus Christ superstar, Evita and Hair. She became famous for the song Comanchero. Discovered by the two Italo disco producers and songwriters Aldo Martinelli and Simona Zanini in the early 80's to perform the song who became a hit across Europe. Number 3 in West Germany number 2 in Austria number 4 in Switzerland and number 5 in France and number 17 in Italy in 1984.
Personally I always loved 80's music, even if it was before my time. In my eyes 1980s music is kinda bizarre, weird, funny, crazy, strong and sensual. Sometimes you are overwhelmed by its simplicity and juvenile innocence other times baffled by its natural insanity and flashy costumes and at the same time mindblown by its elegance. That was the times where a woman could sing and dance and yet still keep her clothes and not a curse word being said. Crazy times the 80's ;-) Oh well to each its own, what regards me Im a buff for retro music. Lost tunes and forgotten songs.
