But first. .
“when I see an anxious person, I ask myself, what do they want? For if a person wasn’t wanting something outside of their own control, why would they be stricken by anxiety?” — Epictetus, discourses, 2.13.1
You would have to be made of stone or living under said rock to not realise that we are potentially on the edge (if not already in it) of a potential pandemic with the new coronavirus — was it man made, is it a bio-weapon or is it just evolution, certainly comes across like a thanos style ‘click of the fingers’ the way it’s killing half of the people it infects. RIP all those that have lost their lives to this horrible virus.
And that’s where the thinking starts for me, as the early morning guns go off, they always fire guns it appears now at 8am across the country, for some reason the army seems to be doing a lot more training these days, wonder why? Maybe it’s just a 2020 thing right?
Anyway, back to the thought process.
Maybe crypto currency, digital assets, are more than the sum of their verified parts, what if we look at crypto from another angle, what if we look at it as a passport and access, rather than the green and red candles that the majority see through the lens — I mean what’s the point of 10x/100x that stuff if you’ll not be able to commute, travel, even step foot outside the house because of a planet ravaged by fire and pathogens.
And yes, before people start telling how influenza has infected 15 million people compared to this virus, yes, I’ve seen that. Flu, yes, checked, we all understand what flu is, how we need to use more water, more wipes, disinfect disinfect disinfect — it’s crazy how we need to do certain actions which ultimately makes the bugs more superbugs like.
So yeah, I’ve been seeing crypto for a long time as ‘access’ — sure it’s hard money and a value store, immutable, tracked in time and space of an event that is maths provable, way stronger, way more reality that a piece of paper, handshake or gentlemen’s promise.
I get dreams of moon/mars scapes almost like that game death stranding or whatever it’s called, I think that artist was ahead of the curve on that one, this notice that you have this exosuit and the amazon prime of the future is a person by person effort not to deliver the latest trinkets from Shenzhen but to rebuild the planet, shuffling n95 filters from place to place — nutrients that are working in certain pockets of the world, places where we have the IoT sensors still working from pre wind and solar power experiments.
I see soulless HAL style panels on hermetically sealed doors only reacting to NFT devices from citizens that carry a suitable digital wallet balance and virtual worker hours criteria embedded within it — the journey alone, the power requirements to keep that device on, the need to build the mesh network along the way to actually be able to make the connection back to the node you spent years to build and keep running.
Anxiety comes in many forms, especially if you are an empath of the future, instead of receiving the emotional state of one person your hardwired into all of the voices at once, you’ll have to use those digital credits to farm and filter them like a low noise filter of the mind — you’ll have to virtually work just to be able to afford the subscription to the filtering.
If you are suffering from anxiety today, then consider this, potentially tomorrow and the future could potentially be a lot worse and what you have today is actually small fries compared to where we might be if we don’t learn to clear the fog of not being an active participant at effecting change here on a local level.
It’s gonna take all of us.
