Steemit for Content Creators | #ep11 | different ways to connect to the steemit blockchain

in dtube •  7 years ago  (edited)

like most websites these days you can find periods of times when the website is either slow, not loading completely or just not accepting your updates or clicks — no matter what you do it seems you are struck in treacle not going anywhere fast. It sucks, it’s a time suck and it kills productivity. The problem is this is a common thing these days with a war constantly being fought over one thing - uptime.

From deliberate ddos attacks to cutting edge blockchain technology ledgers syncing building a resiltant, fast, self correcting infrastructure is one of the primary drivers for any crypto company — steemit has the same problems as everyone else, it’s easy to put together a fairly huge sized ddos network and even hire out a network to knock another platform of the web — for spite, economic advantage or just because your a damaged human being that just enjoys the notion of pseudo faux powerplay — to the end user it just looks like the company at the top of the tree can’t adapt or keep control of it’s product and it sends bag signals about the brand.

One of the many wonderful things about steemit is that the blockchain, the ledger part is fairly distributed around the world across many witnesses, these are people that witness the ledger updates which means that the steemit blockchain is in sync — of course those ledgers can get behind, slow down, even be taken offline the same way as a ddos attack on a main webserver but on the majority they are pretty resilient the more of them that exist and in this episode I want to show you a few more ways you can connect to the steemit blockchain even if the main website is down.

the st33m amplify project is an effort to bring vloggers, content creators, youtubers and to bring in general the bloggers of the world into steem and show them they can add steemit to their income streams and have a more open, ad-free experience and share the wealth of their own successes over here on the platform instead of a centralized blog that currently pays them little adsense or nothing at all.

Ned has posted that there is not a current DDOS attack. He doesn't really admit to what the problem is or even that it's any different to normal. We don't expect perfection, but some honest with the community would help confidence in the team.

I just learned about SteemStage that appears to be a clone of the Steemit site. I don't like that it doesn't make it clear who is behind it or even that it's not the original site. I haven't logged in there yet.
