HOW TO EASILY IMPROVE 4K PREVIEW SPEED | ADOBE PREMIERE

in dtube •  7 years ago

Hey there fellow video editors!

Today I wanted to share 5 easy ways how you can improve your video preview playback speed in the Adobe Premiere Pro. From time to time I am shooting 4k vids and I only have MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM, so it makes my video editing a total nightmare. However, I have found a way how to speed up the video preview playback.

  1. Lower playback resolution
  2. Turn off "High quality playback"
  3. Set renderer to "Mercury Playback GPU acceleration"
  4. Turn off Global Fx
  5. Use Proxies

One of the things that are super annoying about editing is buffering and rendering time lol

Wow you shoot in 4k bro?

Yea, rendering time is the worst hahaha. Drains all of my RAM and the laptop is soooo slow, that I am not able to do anything. :/ Planing to buy more powerful laptop this year.

From time to time I tend to shoot my b roll in 4k. I guess I just like to have that extra resolution. If I need to use image stabilization, crop some parts of the image, making zoom ins and outs.
Most of our phones can shoot 4k, so why not use it. hehe

Will try to make a good explanation video in the future about why I am shooting 4k.
