I guess that fetching that perfect day on the Romanian slopes is not the easiest of things.
First of all, you have to follow the weather forecast closely. Check out the patterns of snow, because snow may be a luxury nowadays. Also, the wind is important as the installations we have on the slopes are light and will stop working even in what somewhere else would be considered mild wind.
Secondly, you have to do this outside of the usual weekends or the holidays season. That's where everybody will be, getting the waiting lines thicker and longer. The slopes are full those days with people wearing jeans on their rented skis. Be careful out there.
Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, you have to be able to just go, whenever the opportunity arises. It may be that for 3 days straight wind was blowing so hard that no installation could be opened but in the fourth day, the sun may be up and the atmosphere incredible. One of the best slopes we have is named in the respect for the Sun: The Sun Valley.
This season was a good one in terms of both abundance of snow and pretty much lack of wind so the "playgrounds" I have at not more than an hour driving distance have been open for business since the start of last December.
Check out the video for a little overview of two contrast days (foggy and cloudy vs. sunny and warm) on two of these slopes.
