I Filmed My Face for My First Laptop Capture Please Criticize to Help Me Do Better

in dtubesnapx •  6 years ago  (edited)

You asked for it, you got it! Here is my face in all its glory for your viewing pleasure.

This is the first time I have tried to use the camera program on my laptop to shoot a video. I think I can make this work as long as you like the result. Please give me comments and criticism so I can improve what you see and hear. I promise I will do better next time!

Thank you everyone for your support of my efforts to post videos to dtube regularly. I have a lot of technical, personal, and other challenges, but I am not making excuses. I have about 10 general areas I need to work on and I am improving in most of them as I keep trying. I am so grateful to all of you for pushing me to do better.

I am a proud member of the dtubefamily777. All steemers can join this wonderful dtube program too. Check out the posts of @nathanmars to find out how to participate and then just do it! He will notice you and good things will happen after that.

I am so grateful for your attention to my videos and will answer any comments and questions if you post them here. Sometimes Nathan comes in to upvote comments, so don’t miss your chance for that!

Yes we want more. You look beautiful and gorgeous and you did an amazing job with looking at the lens and not the screen. 😉 Pro already. Keep them coming.

Aw! I love you so much, @sergiomendes. It was a lucky day when I met you. This freaks me out so bad, but I will keep trying. You are such a good friend. {{{Hugs}}}

PS - there's some kind of London meetup happening soon. You need to go to it.

Yeah I will try to go even if I am. Really weird and I don't like to meet new people lolol

Also hope you got the 50 Steem 😉🎁

They want you to come. They love you already, and want to meet you. Get photos! I have a comment somewhere about it and I will find it.

I did get it and this was not a SMALL gift. It was 10% of what I needed. I am so grateful to you. For this and for all your help.

Just glad the community got together and now you almost have money for 2 months rent ♥️

I am so relieved and working on post to thank everyone. I am trying not to make it too long, but there are some many thanks to be given.

I'm thinking about this London meetup. Do you have the details, or do I need to find the comment? I want you to make sure you know the date so you can get work off. Being like a mom here :)

Ehehe it is this Friday. I am in a Discord group with them.... Lol but honestly I actually don't know or follow any of them... Well maybe a couple of people.

But I might be able to pop in meet everyone. Say hello. And ran away with my anxiety on its high lololol

Oh my goodness.

  1. Follow all of them who are going and read their posts so you will have topics of conversation.
  2. Go to the meetup.
  3. Smile and be your charming self.
  4. Take photos and/or video. Pretend that is your job to ease anxiety.

This is called networking. Once you put faces to the names, you will all support each other and great things will happen.

You are a waiter. How can you not be around people????

You need to branch out, like you always tell me.

I don’t judge by physical appearance the beauty comes from within and don’t forget it. I believe it’s just part of human nature to never be happy with ourselves as per the MS garbage pushing beauty upon us over character.

I was once fairly chunky also, maybe not obese, I lost my weight by a change in my body’s consumption of sugars I’m looking at being a diabetic one day. I still struggle with body dysphoria(I think that’s what it’s called) when I look in the mirror I still see the overweight me staring back, hard thing to get over it is.

I can hear the trauma in your voice just be proud that you have overcome those challenges and are now working towards bettering yourself. I totally understand not wanting to go through with more surgery if not absolutely necessary I’m like that with the doctor in general!

Criticisms:
The audio is slightly out of sync by the end of the video seems to have started off fairly well, I’m no expert in this field by any means and maybe needing to slightly adjust the mic gain as it has a little distortion but that’s the one thing that stood out to me.

Good lighting and pretty good looking quality on my mobile, suggestion when I record “talking head vlogs” I try to get my head just at the top of the shot showing a little more of my body taking up more of the screen.

As times goes on you will become more comfortable on camera, I have! No longer do I criticize myself but I analyze and learn from the footage how to do things better. Your brave to ask for criticism, that’s a good thing IMO as without the feedback from another perspective simple things may be overlooked.

PS having a face to put to the name makes that personal connection with your audience we are all wanting, that was my one advice for @kawaiicrush and look at where she is now? A legend on her own level!

Good job staying eyes locked on the camera it can be a challenge when the recording footage is staring you in the face 😅

Thank you for all this help, @d00k13. I will keep going and I took down your ideas to work on. I have a long list! I planned to make one today, but the arthritis was killing me so I posted one exercising my hands instead. People like it!

But I will try every day and post something. I am committed to this project for the coming months. Please criticize at will. I need all the help I can get.

I will definitely let you know if anything stands out to me, I was lucky to have @DNews a professional guide me through my creation learning process. Much of what I pass on is from his original suggestions to me, he said once I listen and apply the lessons in my own way and that seems to work for me.

Something as simple as him suggesting using the rear facing camera on my iPhone for the better quality video and sensors for face recognition thus clear focus made a huge difference in the end result of my footage, he always mentioned how I could produce some extremely high quality video from non professional equipment even if my content was lacking thus directing my focus on the actual subject matter of what I create.

As always do what you love and love what you do, other then for the sake of learning I take no notice of the criticisms but I think you already got that point down!

"using the rear facing camera on my iPhone for the better quality video and sensors for face recognition "

What about the mic in that configuration?

Yup that is better also, on my iPhone there is a little pin hole for the mic on the rear beside the camera whereas with the front it uses the bottom normal mic, essentially makes the audio pickup directional and my voice louder drowning out the background noises!

Great question 👍

Oh, this is good to know. I think I see a pin hole mic on my android too. It would be easier for me if I do not have to see myself while filming, I think.

YES!!!

See I think your going to be an essential part of this collaboration of information to help empower others!

That was a little unexpected benefit I had not been thinking about as I now mostly use my GoPro, seeing yourself while recording I find is only helpful for those moments trying to line up a view point behind you otherwise it’s a distraction and if you look at my videos with the plain green wall behind me you can see my eyes wonder to the screen then snap back 😅 still working on that myself since the introduction of DTube snap pushing me to finding a completely mobile solution for uploads and loving it. Hard to know your lighting using rear facing so indoor I use front facing and it helps me to line up my angles.

Ask me anything. Just like you. I am interested in everything and "Internet Researcher" has been my actual job a few times in the past. I can't do it as much now with this limited wifi bs, so that's why I am so happy for your weekly contest to take a bit of the burden.

I have a three paneled sliding glass door in front of me at about three feet and it faces north, so that is why my lighting is ok.

Yes, this dtubesnap thing is pushing me as well :)

Hi @fitinfun, Sharon, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your face. And especially when you smile and laugh, it looks even nicer.

Well done for bracing yourself despite challenges to face the camera right on and talk to us.

Keep them coming, @fitinfun. Like you said, gotto fit in fun all the way.

👍👍👍💪💪😊

I will persist, no matter what :)

I'm proud of you. It's so great to see you in a video. Just keep doing that, it's really great video. The quality of the camera is great, it's not moving like for some people taking their phone and shaking it, your English is awesome. So, it's really easy for you to be one of the top upvoted by dtube, just if you create videos often. The value is in ideas and message you want to share. I'm sure you have a lot of wisdom to share with us. Keep it on. ☺

Oh wow! Thank you so much @clixmoney. Tomorrow's video will be my intro post for dcooperation - after all this long delay. I am so grateful to everyone helping me and pushing me so I can finally film my face. You know how hard this is for me :)

I'm really excited for you to see it and so happy you came here today. And thank you for the upvotes today. This means the world to me.

I hope your prediction comes true and I will be posting daily as best as I can.
