Dunk On Every Rim You See

There can always be variations with every rim. I have even ran into rims that are 10’ 2” and stiff. I know if I can dunk on those I can dunk on any rim. Also how bouncy the floor is. Some older floors don’t have as much bounce in them. After all the court is strips of wood that flex slightly. The older I get the more rims I conquer.

OK...I gotta ask...How old and how tall?

Here's a clue. I have been dunking for 17 years since you were in diapers. Hahah. Actually I have been trying to keep my age a secret from myself since I feel old typing it but I'm 34, 6' 210lb. I just posted a video also of it. Not my best dunks but I played a lot of games before hand. Last Wednesday I was really putting down some rim wreckers and had two in game dunks. I had extra bounce in my step because there was a girl watching I was trying to impress. Heheheh. I was going to ask you if you ever saw the Damon Bailey story?

I hadn't...no. Wow. Amazing. Are you related?

You're only 6' even and still throwing down at 34? I'm impressed. I was a 5'11" center---because the rest of the starting 5 on my H.S. team broke a leg, transferred, or got kicked out for smoking just before we would have all been seniors together. I could get rim halfway between wrist and elbow, but could never dunk because I have tiny hands...lol...

I'm jealous, man.

Being able to dunk off the dribble is a big problem for sure. The two handed dunks open up a lot of possibilities as far as holding on to the ball but I'm primarily a 1 footed jumper and I always feel torqued when I try to get the two handed dunk off one foot. Jumping off two feet I can't get as high and then going for two hands at that point takes a little off my reach so that dunk has always been an issue for me.
As far as age. I'm the oldest dunker in Tucson that I know of but for inspiration you will have to watch this documentary about a guy who was 43 and really focused on being in a dunk contest and he was only 5'11.

Wow...amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing that, Brian. I'm 57 now, and 245 pounds now, so I am not even going to dream about dunking anymore myself...lol...

Watching now....

You will love it! It is pretty cool!

Wow...that was ABSOLUTE, PURE, INSPIRATION! Thanks, Brian.

I was very much like him. I used to literally dream of dunking almost every night in my late 20's and my 30's. Had a brief renaissance when I was 41, when I dropped down to my high school weight one summer for awhile, and got rim again...but that's been it.

Been on the downhill slide ever since. Still feeling good, but I doubt I'll ever jump again.

Can you link me to your video?

Here is the one for Sunday.

And here is an older one.

Dude...that is awesome! I'm so stinking jealous!! I love the shots from the floor looking up, especially...somehow it looks even more impressive from that angle. Are you in a men's league? I played in one until I was 40...

Right now I'm not in a league here. I have just been playing pickup which gets pretty serious on certain days. Like arguments are breaking out and people are trying to fight and stuff. Hahhaha

Yeah...that's why I always liked league's better. At least you had some recourse if somebody constantly got out of line.

You must be an attack-the-basket slasher type..?

Yeah I know what you mean. When there are refs then players can yell at them and see if they get kicked out. Hahhaha.

It sort of depends. I actually shoot a lot of 3 pointers just because a lot of times when we play we plays 2's from beyond the arch and 1's inside which totally changes the game to where it makes more sense to shoot 3's but then I will get them way out on me and then I will try to burn them and take it right to the rim.
I stopped playing as big inside because I'm always getting hit in the face. I actually broke my nose really bad back in October. It was the worst break I have ever seen.

Great basketball skills

Thanks!
