Kolkata: Coordinators of a 'common' Durga Puja in Kolkata have arrived in a debate after a video of them supposedly playing Azaan (Muslim call for supplications) in a Pandal started shock via web-based networking media. A neighborhood legal counselor has moved toward the city police looking for activity against the coordinators.
As indicated by a report by Indian Express, a nearby legal counselor, Santanu Singha, presented a police protest against coordinators of Beliaghata 33 Pally Durga Puja pandal. The legal counselor, in his objection, has named ten individuals, including the club secretary of the puja pandal.
The complainant, who says he got the video from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, charges the coordinators were completely engaged with irritating the harmony and quietness in West Bengal by playing the Azaan tune in the Durga Puja Pandal. He asserted the denounced have purposefully played Azaan and this has harmed the estimations of Hindus.
The puja coordinators, then again, said their Puja topic is planned for spreading harmony among religions and the issue is being politicized pointlessly.
The coordinators said that they have chosen the topic 'Amra ek, eka noye' (we are as one not the only one) this year to demonstrate that that humankind is over all religions including they have utilized models of chapel, sanctuary and mosque to exhibit the topic.
