Happy 1st Birthday Dusty!!!

May 2019 marks the 1 year anniversary of one of my personal favourite initiatives on the Steem blockchain - Dustsweeper.

Around 12 months ago, a couple of great minds with a huge community spirit (@davemccoy & @danielsaori) identified a need on the blockchain, and set about filling it. Thus @dustsweeper was born!

Have you ever made a post, or left someone a comment that has received a little vote, only for that vote to be worthless after the seven day payout period rolls around? Sucks doesn't it? And it can pretty disheartening, especially for someone who's fairly new to Steem.

So what does it do? Well in a nutshell, it's a service that periodically sweeps your account for posts or comments that are approaching payout that fall below Steem's predetermined minimum payout threshold. When one is located, it gives you an additional boost to push you up over the minimum, thus meaning you receive the reward the original voter intended you to have.

To start yourself off with a Dustsweeper balance, all you need to do is send some Steem or SBD to @dustsweeper, who will then generously match it 1 for 1, and store that value. Then every time you receive a vote from Dusty, your balance will be reduced by that value. When your balance falls below $0.30, you will get a friendly little message telling your balance is getting low and you should top up.

You can find a bit more information about it here in the FAQ

So what are you waiting for? Get around Dusty, and get yourself some backup.

Amazing!

Your balance is below $0.3. Your account is running low and should be replenished. You have roughly 10 more @dustsweeper votes. Check out the Dustsweeper FAQ here: https://steemit.com/dustsweeper/@dustsweeper/dustsweeper-faq
