Let’s take a moment to reflect, look at how many electronic devices you own. I’m willing to bet it’s a couple: tablet, PC, cell phone, etc. Think about how long those devices sit idly without use. How contradictory since there are so many items that need compute power and that it’s quite an expensive resource. DXchain aims to bridge that gap. Big IOT systems, ML & Algorithms and other complicated solutions being deployed in every part of industry are fueling demand for more robust cloud hosting solutions. But is that the real key? To create more infrastructure in a centralized fashion, is that the key? Why not tap into unused resources?
These are all discussions that we will be engaging in this article and we will also be discussing the
solution to these problems as well.
Storage and compute power scale for the most part linearly this day in age to some extent until we reach a massive breakthrough such as quantum computing, however given the advent of blockchain technology we can address this with a resource that just sits around on our desks idly.
The largest feat for super computers is to take relatively complex tasks and compress them down. The largest issue for computation overall is that your electronics that are producing usable data aren’t close to a processing center. This is the crux of IOT application.
The idea of sharing computing resources isn’t anything new; it’s been around for decades. But the major issue is that they rely on centralized brokered. As IOT grows, so does the need for storage as well as computation power. More importantly there needs to be a low latency solution that allows devices to communicate with one another whilst still maintaining data integrity.
Also the ability to share resources is not something inherent in centralized systems.
If you look at the last few decades in the steps of virtualization, it’s quite evident that wiring up any type of environment in a data center or single PC has become much easier. However taking that one step further, taking that hardware and putting it to use in a resource sharing economy, that solution still doesn’t exist.
Also, payment processing is an issue at large, even though we’re in the year 2018, moving money around which should be a free is still quite a relatively expensive process. Also, how do you verify the work rendered.
This is where Dxchain comes into play, it creates an environment where computing and storage resources can be shared seamlessly, whilst bolstering security since all the data is decentralized, are all aims of DXchain. The P2P nature of blockchain and distributed code is also going to assist the relocation of data closer to where the data is being produced, thereby dropping latencies.
Could a technology such as DXchain replace a robust service such as Amazon AWS? Logically speaking it’s the next phase in storage/computational evolution as well as the democratization of said service. This is the future for IOT application and data processing.
