18 THERE are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yes, four which I do not understand:
19 THE WAY OF AN EAGLE IN THE AIR, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the midst of the sea, And the way of a man with a virgin."
Proverbs 30:18,19 (NKJV)
• When you had a close communion with God, you would receive directions about issues of life. The Aura, or atmosphere of His presence, would be with you.
- When Moses stayed in His presence for an extended period of time, his face or countenance was transfigured, and shine:
28 SO HE WAS THERE WITH THE LORD FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, THE Ten Commandments. 29 NOW IT WAS SO, WHEN MOSES CAME DOWN FROM MOUNT SINAI (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), THAT MOSES DID NOT KNOW THAT THE SKIN OF HIS FACE SHONE WHILE HE TALKED WITH HIM. 30 SO when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, BEHOLD, THE SKIN OF HIS FACE SHONE, AND THEY WERE AFRAID TO COME NEAR HIM" (Exodus 34:28-30 NKJV). - Jesus also was transfigured because He separated Himself to be with God the Father (Mark 9:2-7).
• Note: It is important that, whatever you heard in the place of communion with God, you have to do it—obey to the letter (Hebrews 8:5).
- You have a duty, a responsibility:
(i) To hear Him clearly.
(ii) And to do all He instructed and commanded you to do. - There is no point in hearing God if you would not do whatever He has told you to do.
- In fact, If He has spoken to you, in the first and the second time, and you did not do it—He would allow you to have your way. You would be left on your own! But that would not be without negative repercussions or consequences.
- Until you obeyed the last instruction given you by God, He would not give you any other one.
- Seek to hear Him and do whatever He has told you. If He knew, because He is omniscient, that you would not do whatever He told you, He may not bother to speak to you at all.
- If He sees that you have idolized your own plans and programmes, He may not bother to lead you further than the point of your last Obedience.
- Follow Him with all your heart! Develop intimacy with Him. If you could succeed in following His Words, that is, the instructions given to you, you would succeed in the assignment before you:
"YOU ARE MY [Jesus'] FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHATEVER I COMMAND YOU" (John 15:14 NKJV).
3 WHEN THE WINE RAN OUT, THE mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 AND Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 HIS MOTHER SAID TO THE SERVANTS, “DO WHATEVER HE TELLS YOU.”
John 2:3–5 (ESV)
3 AND WE CAN BE SURE THAT WE KNOW HIM IF WE OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS.
4 IF SOMEONE CLAIMS, “I know God,” BUT DOESN'T OBEY GOD'S COMMANDMENTS, THAT PERSON IS A LIAR AND IS NOT LIVING IN THE TRUTH.
5 BUT THOSE WHO OBEY GOD'S WORD TRULY SHOW HOW COMPLETELY THEY LOVE HIM. THAT IS HOW WE KNOW WE ARE LIVING IN HIM."
1 John 2:3-5 (NLT)
- The secret of success in the Kingdom; in whatever assignment or whatever to be done, is Obedience to the instructions given by God. Following His leadings!
- If you succeed in this alone, you have succeeded in the Ministry or whatever you are bidden to do in life, as a Believer.
IT is my prayer that you will succeed and prosper in all you do in Jesus' name.
• Some other features of an Eagle.
V. Eagles eat fresh meat. It means you should seek to feed on the fresh Word of God daily: "BUT HE ANSWERED AND SAID, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD' ” (Matthew 4:4 (NKJV).
- It has to be a daily instruction from God through His Word. There has to be a continuous one. The Word has to be a daily Manna, not a stale bread—but fresh meat, fresh Word, given to you daily:
"THEN THE LORD SAID TO MOSES, “BEHOLD, I WILL RAIN BREAD FROM HEAVEN FOR YOU. AND the people shall go out and GATHER A CERTAIN QUOTA EVERY DAY, THAT I MAY TEST THEM, WHETHER THEY WILL WALK IN MY LAW OR NOT" (Exodus 16:4 NKJV).
VI. As mentioned earlier, Eagles have a keen sight, sharp eyes.
- The feeding on the Word of God will make your sight sharp (Joshua 1:8; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).
- You begin to see in God's point of views. You have His perspective about life and things in general. You see like He sees.
- And when you see things as He does, you would be able to do whatever He instructed you to do as He wanted it.
- Obedience to His instructions, doing His Will, would not be difficult for you. BECAUSE the importance of doing whatever said to be done, by Him, is known to you.
• Note these points:
(i) Obedience.
a. When you obeyed the Word, the Blessings follow:
1 “NOW IT SHALL COME TO PASS, IF YOU DILIGENTLY OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD, TO OBSERVE CAREFULLY ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS which I command you TODAY, that the LORD YOUR GOD WILL SET YOU HIGH ABOVE ALL NATIONS OF THE EARTH. 2 AND ALL THESE BLESSINGS SHALL COME UPON YOU AND OVERTAKE YOU, BECAUSE YOU OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD" (Deuteronomy 28:1,2 NKJV).
b. Then, other benefits of the Obedience would be: "NO MAN SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST YOU; THE LORD YOUR God Will PUT THE DREAD OF YOU and THE FEAR OF YOU UPON ALL THE LAND WHERE YOU TREAD, JUST AS HE HAS SAID TO YOU" (Deuteronomy 11:25 NKJV).
(ii) Commitments: "WHATEVER your hand finds to DO, DO IT with your MIGHT; FOR there is no WORK or DEVICE or KNOWLEDGE or WISDOM IN THE GRAVE WHERE YOU ARE GOING" (Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV).
(iii) Having the fear of the LORD: "THE fear of the Lord is to HATE EVIL; PRIDE and ARROGANCE and THE EVIL WAY And THE PERVERSE MOUTH I HATE" (Proverbs 8:13 NKJV).
- Some have acquired knowledge but they find it difficult to apply (Psalm 25:12,13).
VII. Eagles are strong and fast (Deuteronomy 28:49).
- You must be prompt and swift in obeying whatever is said to be done by God: "THEY PASS BY LIKE SWIFT SHIPS, LIKE AN EAGLE SWOOPING ON ITS PREY" (Job 9:26 NKJV).
VIII. Eagles are monogamous.
- This symbolizes loyalty; faithfulness and commitment.
- Whoever would be used as a leader in God's Kingdom should be someone who is faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2).
- A person of chastity. Someone who can keep his or her vessel—body (1 Thessalonians 4:4,5).
- A promiscuous person, someone who is not living a clean life, may not go far in the work of the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 5:11; 2 Timothy 2:19-22).
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any infirmity in your body, receive your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold of the enemy, the devil, is completely broken in your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. And the Affliction will never rise again in Jesus' name.
Peace!
