Cartilage piercings are a surprisingly simple way to customize your personal style and add individuality to your appearance. We're going to teach you how to do it like a pro, including:
→ What type of jewelry to use and how long it will take
→ How much bleeding and discomfort is involved
→ Avoiding common mistakes when caring for your piercing
Begin by choosing a small, non-toxic marker, with a fine tip, to mark where you want to pierce your tragus.
Sterilize the needle prior to piercing your earlobe by wiping off excess ink from the tip of the marker and placing it in boiling water for roughly one minute.
When finished, place the needle in rubbing alcohol and shake it around to further cleanse it of fluid.
Use a piece of clean gauze or a paper towel to dry off the area, leaving only a minimal amount of moisture. If there is excess moisture, use another piece of gauze/paper towel to remove any remaining moisture.
Gauze or paper towels that have been used for cleaning purposes should be disposed of and new ones used for continued cleaning.
Insert the marked needle through your tragus, from back to front, making sure you have accurately placed it on your mark before doing so. Take care not to let your hands touch any part of your ear while doing so as this will affect how clean you can keep it in the future.
If done correctly, you should find yourself with an entrance point on each side of your tragus.
You may be tempted to use a piercing gun to make the hole in your tragus, but they are especially ineffective at piercing cartilage. Piercing guns can cause scarring and increased discomfort, so they are not recommended at all.
Make sure to get professional piercings or even consult an ear, nose, and throat doctor if you have trouble.https://ericajewels.com/collections/tragus-earrings
