Some of the most difficult questions in astronomy are: how great the heavenly bodies are, how far they are and when they are formed. How can people understand that a planet is 1,300 times greater than Earth? Or that it is 144 million kilometers from our solar system?
Artist Ron Miller has created a series of images that perfectly illustrate these questions and helps ordinary people understand how big the planets are in our solar system and how they would see if they were about 384,000 kilometers from Earth, where the Moon is.
The artist chose to illustrate in the background with the Californian Valley. He considers space to inspire people, and in each of the hypothetical situations above we will be different. "We all felt humiliated with Jupiter's presence on us," said Ron Miller.
