May Need help on NYC ECB violations, part 1

in ecb •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi all.  I wonder if anyone had this experience before.  I have a house in NYC, the plumber suppose to have all the permits to do this.  They replaced the boiler and hot water heater.  Then the DOB plumbing inspector came.  He filed an ECB violation for putting these in without first doing a gas inspection or certification.  I thought the plumber did everything correct, but I guess not.  The violation is under the plumber company name not on mine.  However they put a lien on my house.  I looked it up online.  The hearing date is pushed back to March from original date of January 19.    I think the plumber company may have filed an extension.   The issue is the DOB took a picture of my boiler before the new install and then after they came they think they didn't have all the paper work.  Online it does show the plumber receive a permit to do it.  So it's a little confusing.

So my issue, what do I do? If I ever want to sell the house, I may have issue with the lien.  Do I need   reestate lawyer, if they keep the lien on.  Should I wait to see what happens in March.  I called them, they didn't like that I kept calling. They did say they are working on it.  So I decide to not push them and upset them more.  They did say it doesn't involve me, but I told them, they put a lien on my house, so it does involve.  I think, I may wait till March after the hearing date to see what happens.  If it becomes worse anyone have ideas or experience with this?  Any nyc re-estate lawyers that could help. I'm willing to use their service if this thing becomes extended or worse.    I'll put an update as it progress, so that in the future other that may have this problem can gain some understanding.
