There are three areas that are designated as special economic zones, namely the former Arun refinery complex, Dewantara sub-district, and Jamuan village (factory location of PT KKA). Some are located in North Aceh District, some in Lhokseumawe City.
KEK Arun will be fenced as a special area with an area of 2222.48 ha. Currently, there are already several industries in the area located in North Aceh Regency and Lhokseumawe City. Exactly 236.4 hectares of PT Aceh Asean Fertilizer (AAF) which will produce petrochemical industry, PT Pertamina (151.3 ha) also produce petrochemicals, PT Pelindo I (38.18 ha) provides ports and logistics, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (307.15 ha) also produces petrochemicals, formerly PT Arun (1,689.8 ha) will again produce oil, gas and energy, and PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (KKA) of 199.6 ha which will again produce pulp paper) and paper.
