The American way: Blame it up

in economics •  8 years ago  (edited)

The american people have a habit which I'll refer to " blame it up ".

Where the central dogma is:
" If someone has more power than I do, and are implicated in some problem I have, then very clearly it is their fault. "

This is bullshit, and can be seen in so many facets of life.

A friend had stated:
"[I]ncome inequality is an issue and the rich don't do anything with their money"

To which I replied:
"Correction: The average person doesn't inspire the rich to do anything with their money. Hence the problem MOST people have with fundraising and venture capital ( Look at Apple -- more money than God + no idea wtf to do with it ). Consequently this is where the "american way" of blaming societal issues on the people in greater power, falls short. "

So, if you're looking to be an entrepreneur, the onus of " doing something " with their money isn't on them ( ODDLY enough, it's their privilege to sit on it ).

Its on the entrepreneurs to do something convincing to merit it.
