We got a number of economic indicator updates this week, so I figured I'd show the updates to all six indicators that the NBER Business Cycle Dating Committee uses to determine if we are in a recession.
5 of the 6 indicators have increased since the start of this year. Those 5 indicators also increased in July.
In addition, Gross Domestic Income increased by 1.4% in the second quarter after increasing 1.8% in the first quarter. And Gross Domestic Product was revised upward to -0.6% in the second quarter.
We are about 3% above the pre-pandemic level and 3% below the peak.
