GET TO KNOW NUSA
Nusa is a village in Lhoknga district, Aceh Besar regency. The village can be reached for about 15 minutes from Banda Aceh, the capital city of Aceh province. Before the Tsunami hit the village in 2004, Nusa was well known as a producer of clove, one of local potential commodities. The village itself is so beautiful, covering with paddy fields and towering mountains.
WHAT TO OFFER?
Besides its beautiful landscape, Nusa has a lot to offer. When I was there, there was a wedding party ongoing. All the villagers were all there, helping or celebrating together. I managed to capture the wedding altar, as can be seen here.
The men were helping with preparing food for the guests.
Another attraction of the village is traditional dance. I was lucky that I could meet up the young dancers while they were preparing for their performance at the wedding reception.
Besides those of cultural sides, I love the environment, green area and the traditional house.
And my favorite corner of the house! Yes, a mini library!
ECO-FRIENDLY
There's a club in the village called Nusa Creation Community (NCC), which empowers local women with various activities of making handicrafts and recycling anorganic products that have economical values to improve their incomes.
Here are some examples:
And yes it's the main reason for Ecotourism, yes the RUBBISH BANK. Saving like in a conventional bank.
Besides all of these attractions, Nusa has many more to offer includes traditional culinary, historical sites, and traditional games. For more information you can visit: www.gampongnusa.com
