wow, jesus christ! i had no idea this shit was going on..
im starting to realise that the answer to this weeks question might WELL be that the reason is due to fanatical vegan resistance! damn!

that is NOT the way.. not even close.. i learn every day that we have to act with love and compassion toward all, and that means even our 'enemies' ... i had NO idea of the aggressive vegan movement before this QOTW, really none at all..

thank you for this, and helping me to understand the resistance!

    For further illumination, try watching the JP Sears video "If Meat Eaters Acted Like Vegans" on YouTube. He perfectly captures the condescending attitude that turns a lot of people off about vegans.

    The title for the QOTW even belies a bit of that attitude. "Threatened" reads as a microaggression in suggesting meat eaters are insecure--and therefore wrong. I'm not threatened by the idea of giving up meat. I simply dislike it when people who think their diet is superior get heavyhanded in their conversion efforts--frankly, it's no different than religious fanaticism, and equally as irritating.

    Now normal, minding-their-own-business vegans who just do their thing without constantly harping on it--THOSE vegans I have zero issue with.

        Yay! Glad you liked reading this. I am looking forward to reading all of the other replies today. I feel pretty passionate about food, food security and the whole mess of a food system that is in operation right now. I do understand the passion and perhaps the underlying intentions of these "fanatical" people but as you said, they are coming at it entirely the wrong way. Love + Compassion!
