Sunday's homeless meal update.steemCreated with Sketch.

We fed the homeless a hot meal Sunday afternoon. The wind was so high (40 MPH) that we could not set up the canopies. It was 37 degrees out, and with the wind chill it was pretty brutal. We expected 400 homeless, and only got 250 because off the cold.

We fed everyone Hot food, and even sent some plates along for later.

The left overs were sent to the Denver house for them to feed more at risk good people. We forgot 10 pumpkin pies in the refrigerator, so they went to the Denver House along with the left overs. A lot of good people, ate a good Thanksgiving meal this weekend! We were able to pass out some warm clothes and blankets too.

It was a great day out in the bitter cold; because it is always a blessing to be GOD's hands!

sir smithlabs! how much food did you have left over? Are you saying that you brought twice as much food as needed because of the weather? If that's the case I bet the Denver house loved you guys! The only problem I would have had is taking all 10 pumpkin pies back because that's my weakness and I might have had to keep a couple of those!

Well we had about 60% of what we expected, because of the cold! But the Denver house was thrilled, They will freeze some (actually just leave it frozen, LOL!) to use when they are short, while eating VERY well!

AHHH Pumpkin pie Kryptonite...NOW I know how to knock you off that pink throne! :) They enjoyed the Pumpkin pies too!

sir smithlabs! it was a winning situation for everyone since the food was going to feed more homeless at the Denver House, at least I am assuming they have homeless people there. So that's cool that nothing is ever wasted in your mission to feed people. But man, you guys did a ton of work in cooking and baking, how many turkeys did you end up cooking, at your house?

We cooked 22 turkeys total. I cooked six last year, and they got mad at me, so this year I was told not to cook any!

So, I made 5 gallons of chicken alfredo, 8 pans of cornbread dressing, and 8 gallons of turkey gravy.

We had a 60 quart (5 foot long) ice chest full of sliced Turkey left over.

We had 10 gallons of Chili, and had 3 gallons left over.

Ten pans of dressing with 3 left over, I cooked another 4 gallons of turkey gravy on site, and ended up with about four gallons going to the Denver House.

We had 16 kitchens (counting one barbecue trailer) cooking for this feed. I was SO Proud of them all! They all stepped in, and volunteered to help people they don't even know!

The guy from Church, that buys a lot of the food we use helped this time, and one of the homeless told him it was the only hot meal he got each month! I was glad, because he has provided us with a lot of help with foodstuff, so it was nice he got to see what we do with what he buys for us.

It is always a special blessing to be GOD's hands for a day!

Well, I have been in weku for 18 days. I have a rep number of (52) and just over $50 weku dollars, should be about $6.00 US. Not bad for the first two weeks, LOL!

sir smithlabs! that is indeed a smashing success compared to steemit but Mrs. J doesn't want me spending so much time online so if steemit goes down or doesn't pan out I'll just have to use email to stay in touch or maybe join weku just to stay in touch with you and the others.

If Momma ain't happy, ain't Nobody happy! But please do stay in touch!

And get to prepping! Maybe by way of Ebay....
